Excellent location for exploring St Andrews and we managed to get a space in the free car park beside the hotel - but then this was November! Paid a little extra for a "superior" room - 213 on the 2nd floor. Nice, spacious room. We ate in the hotel that night which was reasonable in price but not great quality... more

Very nice hotel, although you can tell it's built based on a US design - there are no such hotels in Scotland... if you know what I mean. It'd be more natural situated in Arizona or something. Although Fairnie House is a solid Georgian building (close to the ruined Abbey and castle), it has a light contemporary feel inside. Our high-ceilinged, spacious, bedroom was pleasingly furnished in light woods and had all the conveniences (TV etc.) that we could possibly want.
