On August 6, 2008, we were met by Ray from Hike Maui. He took 8 of us on a leisurely hike through a beautiful rain forest to waterfalls on East Maui. It was obvious from the start that Ray has a great love for the islands and is involved in conservation education locally. He answered all our questions about the... more

My wife and I went on the Waterfall and Rainforest Eco Hike with Hike Maui and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Kahi, did a fantastic job pointing out and having everyone taste the various fruits and eatible plants along the trail. We went on two other tours later in the week and impressed the... more

Our in-laws took us on vacation to Maui. They aren't advanced hikers so we arranged a hike for them with Hike Maui. At 60 and 62 respectively they were guided down a ravine to a waterfall and amazed themselves with such an accomplishment. They said their tour guide was very attentive and watched carefully to avoid falls. The special shoes... more

My husband and I participated in an all-day waterfall/rainforest hike in Maui Hawaii with "Hike Maui" in March of 2008. It was BY FAR the best experience we brought back with us from our trip. Our guide was VERY knowledgable, kind and fun!! Everything was very well organized, there wasn't any supplies that we needed that weren't provided, and the... more

This e-mail is late in coming but I just came across the "HIKE MAUI" card today and felt I should write. My nearly 7 month pregnant wife and I went on a hike in April with Alex Buttaro as the guide and I must say he was first rate in every respect. He was a lot of help with my... more

Aloha, Had the best experience with the Hike Maui company and their guide Alex. The Island of Muai has absolutely the greatest things the eye can see and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed having Alex as a guide and have tons of pictures from our adventure we will treasure for years. We would love to comeback and when we... more

Use Hike Maui: My friend and I where customers of Hike Maui on June 21, 2008. The hike was excellent!! Moreover, we had the pleasure of having Tony as our tour leader. He was the best! He had such a vast knowledge of the history, botany, geology, and local customs of the Island. In addition, his friendly and outgoing personality... more

We just returned from our latest Maui trip June 19-26. This year our big excursion was the Hana Waterfall Hike through the bamboo forrest, which my wife had done with a previous boyfriend, and was new to me. I had previously driven the road to Hana just to see the 7 pools which was a long day. We debated driving... more

I went on the all day hike. The hike was great, the guide was top notch. My issue is that after meeting at 7am to head out to the trailhead, we did not arrive until 11:30am. So, it's almost as much driving/riding as hiking. You can drive to Hana yourself and hike the same trail. You won't get the knowlege... more

Management response from
HikeMaui, Manager

Thank you for your feedback, tboneps. If you want to see the big waterfalls on Maui, then yes, it is a long drive along the famous and beautifully tropical Hana Highway. Many people do the drive themselves, but, if you're driving (instead of a guide), you can't really see the incredible scenery well and without a knowledgeable naturalist guide, you...
