We stayed at the Elysian from 11/8 to 11/15. We went with two other couples, all family. We had a 3 bedroom suite in building F. My wife and I had the middle room, and all were very nice and clean when we arrived. We have taken two cruises the last 2 years so to compare would not be fair... more

We just returned from beautiful St. Thomas. A word to the wise - rent a car. Driving on the left is not nearly as difficult as coughing up the money for the outrageous taxi fares. They charge per person! The Elysian is a lovely resort that is in desparate need of a rehab. At least our room needed to be... more

So...a good majority of the reviews trash this place. A trait that made my wife and I extremely nervous when we booked for our honeymoon some time ago. So I went with low expectations and a lot of bug spray. The staff was relatively friendly. We had no real issues with the room. The rooms were in need of some... more

At first I was scared after reading the reviews. It wasn' t nearly as bad as the reviews stated. Just a little advice, if you want to stay at the Ritz its right next door and their pool and jacuzzi is great. Now for the Elysian, the workers are great. The rooms are outdated and housekeeping is only on Wed,... more

Please see our review of our trip under Forums titled "Just returned from an amazing trip to STT 8/6-13/08" for more details. After our two day stay at Sugar Bay, we moved over to the Elysian and we found it to be lovely, enjoyable and delightful. Our room was #346 in Bldg X and it's a studio loft with views... more

I went along with our friends' timeshare exchange. I didn't expect a whole lot, and, as a timeshare owner myself I know some places are hit or miss. Well, this place wasn't a hit. It was okay, but not fabulous. We got adjoining bedrooms - one with a King sized bed, and the other with a Full Sized Murphy Bed.... more

Recently returned from the Elysian Beach Resort (7/19/08) and all the previous negative reviews were right on the money! We had read a number of bad reviews about building X and that is where we stayed. On the very first morning the toilet would not flush, (FYI- it takes 9 full pots of water using the pot from the coffee... more

Let me say at the start that The Elysian's rooms cannot be compared with The Ritz or Marriott's Frenchman"s Reef, but this is a lovely little resort that is owned mainly by residents who live there full-time or at least several months a year, with the remainder used as hotel rooms and timeshare weeks. I think that it is because... more

We loved everything about the resort. It was our honeymoon and we are so glad we stayed at Elysian. The pool and hot tub was fantastic and we loved our room, had a great view. The employees at the Elysian were very friendly and accomodating. We read so many reviews prior to our stay and were pleasantly suprised that most... more

The grounds, exterior , and beach-front are well manicured and attractive. However, the time-share rooms are a dump. The rooms are cooled with old window AC units. As a result, there is a constant din of the window units running, along with unhealthy dampness and an awful mildew smell. The mattresses and pillows were horribly worn and uncomfortable. The ceiling... more
