My boyfriend and I were staying one night in this hotel during our trip through California this month. Although I would rate this hotel overall nice (clean big King bed room, very nice and helpful staff, nice Jacuzzi), there were two issues. First, if you stay in this hotel don't expect anything of the breakfast. It is presented in the... more

My husband and I chose Inn by the Lake for a belated anniversary celebration. We wanted and got a view, but be warned, if your room is lower than the top (3rd) floor, you won't get one. The girl at the front desk was helpful our first night directing us to a local Thai restaurant (we had asked for a... more

We have stayed at Inn by the Lake several times. We have never been disappointed. DH goes snowboarding at heavenly (less than 2 miles away), I stay behind in the room as I am not inclined to be cold, wet, and bruised while on vacation. We rent the 1-BR with a full kitchen, which lets us eat what we want,... more

We originally booked a different hotel but after the last few reviews I cancelled it and booked this hotel instead. The main reason was the good reviews and the response by the manager to all the reviews. The rooms were spacious. We had a king bed with a lot of extra space. The balcony was very small and looked over... more

We pay close attention to customer input as we lack the "brilliance" to fully anticipate and exceed guest expectations. We should of silenced the noise from above after your first call. Thank you very much for your business and kind comments. Regards, Dan

Stayed here for one night whilst on a road trip. Arrived just in time to catch sunset on the lake, which is literally right opposite the hotel. Had a great Mexican meal at a restaurant up the road after a recommendation from the receptionist. The hotel itself was fine - clean and spacious - but nothing special. Didn't get a... more

We spent the final 2 days of our vacation at Inn By the Lake. As a family of four with a 17 year old and 20 year old, we found the room to be spacious enough for all. I requested a lake view room but next time I would be more specific and ask for one on the second or... more

Thank you so much. There is no greater reward for an Innkeeper than to know that we contributed to a pleasant family holiday! Regards, Dan

This place may be a little away from the action but if your going to Tahoe for some relaxation, this is a great place to stay (just make sure you ask for a room facing the lake or you'll be looking at a trailer park). Great beds, great hot tub, and great views. more

Great title to your comments. Thank you! With our lake view (on the other side of the street from the lake) mid-town location, we like to think we offer a "true Tahoe" experience. Two miles away at Stateline the experience is action packed and different. Thank you for pointing this out for other travelers. Regards, Dan

Loved the inn, we arrived 3 hours before check in time and they let us have a room. Great location, across the street from the Lake. The spa was so nice. They could improve the breakfast room by providing trays, there is nothing like breakfast in your room while on a anniversary stay. It was our 34th anniversary. Would defintely... more

stayed here 27/28th july as result of tripadvisor recommendation in a lake view room. beautiful view but noisy I-50 runs between lake and hotel. staff were friendly but atmosphere regimented with room access card required to move between blocks, an inventory of towels displayed in the bathroom and the threat of additional charges if loss or damage were caused. room... more

Thank you for your constructive input. Seems as if we gave you the wrong impression on a number of fronts. A valid guestroom key card is required to enter either of our 2 buildings. Most guests appreciate this added level of security. We do encourage guests to post their Inn by the Lake experience online. We appreciate the positive and...

The staff here is excellent. Our room was very clean and well equipped. However, the rooms in the back of the hotel look to a trailer park and are small. We asked for an upgrade, and were moved to a lovely room without charge since the room was available. This room looked to the pool and spa (very nice!) and... more

Thank you for your very kind and accurate review of Inn by the Lake. We do offer a wide range of room and suite types. Our King and Double Queen Great Rooms measure approximately 500 sq. ft. and most have lake views. Our moderately priced single queen rooms are roughly 300 sq. ft. with fairly large bathrooms but sleeping areas...
