The Eaton Hotel Chester was truly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, thank heaven it was only for two nights. Bizarrely the staff was the most helpful ever, but then they needed to be. My biggest gripe with this hotel is that they continue to advertise, and I quote from Visit Chester.com “Secure parking on site available” this... more

I was absolutley shocked by the lack of facilities and standards within this hotel. After arriving i had to make my way to my poor quality room via a unattractive depressing hallway and a creaky staircase. Within the room i was mortified by the dirty carpets and mouldy smell coming from the ensuite. Also when using the bathroom facilities the... more

Having spent one night in this terrible hotel, I will explain the reasons why, Room2 was our allocated room- see previous review in May 2008. The room was small, the television was fuzzy, no batteries in remote control, telephone didn't work, the bathrom smelt of sewage, when we complained the young lad on reception said there was no other rooms available.... more

I write in response to the comments posted regarding room number 2. I have now been owner of the hotel for 12 months. When the hotel was purchased by my family it was in a state of serious decline. In January 2008 work began to modernise the whole building.Due to refurbishment and restoration of the hotel certain undertakings have had...

We had not made any reservation but found that there were rooms available at this hotel and the staff were very accommodating. The hotel was in a very convenient location, situated midway between the train station and the city centre. The room we stayed in (room 2) was small but as we were staying for only one night, this was... more

This hotel was conveniently located to the train station. The breakfast was very good, lots of variety and good food. The staff were very pleasant .It was, however, the worst place I have ever stayed in. We had a large 2 room family room which was fine. However, the drapes had been painted to the walls on their edges, the... more

Chose this hotel for it's proximity to the station (less than a 5 minute walk) and it's price. Rooms were small but clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and very helpful. If you exit the hotel by the back door there is a nice walk to the city centre along the canal which takes about 10 mins. Breakfast... more

Just returned from a one night stay at the Eaton, booked a single room on the phone direct with the hotel for £39.50. Hotel was easy to find from the station, I was pleased to find Id got a large double room - overlooking the canal. Room was spacious and comfy, the bathroom needed a little work but was fine.... more

Very old and threadbare hotel, that need lots of remodeling. Very nice staff and decent breakfast,, but was not worth the money or the effort IMO. more
