I celebrated my 40th birthday in October (in New Zealand) and my husband booked a night here on our return as an extra birthday present. We had celebrated my 30th birthday here and returned again about 8 years ago but haven't been back since then. We weren't disappointed! On arrival we were told that we had been upgraded from a... more

This is a lovely hotel, very tradtional and extremely well placed in the centre of Chester. We booked the brasserie special offer for 199 pounds per night and the choice and quality of food was excellent and I thought it was excellent value. The drinks were not that expensive for a hotel of this cailbre and I thought the wines... more

We have just enjoyed a weekend break at the Chester Grosvenor as part of a spa package offered by the hotel. We were greeted just before arriving at reception and asked if our cases coud be taken, we then sat at a desk to be personally checked in. From this point onwards, and for the following two days we were... more

A girlfriend and I both celebrating our 40th decided to treat ourselves to a 2 day break and we chose the Grosvenor as it was sold to us as a 5* luxury hotel. We paid quite a lot for our room and overall I would say that it was not good value for money. I have stayed in a lot... more

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and this is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. From the attentive staff to the spotless rooms and excellent food, this is a hotel which most should aspire to be like. I cannot fault any part of the hotel as there isn't anything to complain... more

We fell in love with the Chester Grosvenor when we went to look at the possibility of getting married there back in January 07. We just knew it was the right place for us. We have stayed at the hotel a couple of times prior to our wedding or nipped in for lunch in the brasserie and as you would... more

I had stayed at the Chester Grosvenor before and had enjoyed the experience but the highlight had been dinner in the main restaurant called Arkle so it was with some tripadation that I returned to the hotel having heard that the resturant had been "transformed". I had been satisfied before and working on the thenme if it aint broke don't... more

I had an amazing time at this hotel. The service was excellent, second to none. The building is beautiful - all the public rooms are stunning. Our room was a classic double, decorated beautifully and so large that was like a studio flat, with a bedroom, lounge area and bathroom. The only problem was a stain on the bath robe... more

We lived in Chester for many years so know it really well so had no problems finding the hotel. The hotel location is the best in the city it is situated within the city walls right on the main street (Eastgate St). The hotel is very impressive upon arrival and staff are very efficent and friendly service is excellent throuoghout... more

We stayed here for a long weekend recently for our wedding anniversary and whilst we did enjoy it, I think it was quite expensive and just lacking in certain areas of service for a 5* hotel. We had a phone call the week before our stay, ostensibly a confirmation call but they then went on to try to sell us... more
