This city centre hotel is well located, but very very noisy. The rooms are called cabins and they are small like those on a ship. After a problem with a dirty bed in our 4th floor room we were moved to an even smaller room on the the 6th floor, where we were subjected to noise from the ventilation system... more

We stayed in the Liner two weeks ago as the other hotels in Liverpool we would more familiar with were booked out. the hotel cannot be faulted with regard to location which is excellent. We checked in to our non smoking room only to find it smelt as if someone had been smoking there less than 10 minutes previously. We... more

The hotel was great - stayed overnight for a shopping week end. So handy for Lime Street Station, the staff kept our bags before check in time (and again after checking out) to fit in with train times. The rooms were lovely, great beds, great bathrooms. The breakfast was fantastic - I can't think of anything you could eat for... more

I stayed on a business trip, booked by someone who wanted to impress me and was evidently tempted by the glossy appearance of the hotel. The clue is the name, The Liner - the hotel is like a ship, see? rooms are called cabins, windows are porthole shaped, facilities are in the theme with names like The Castaway. Luckily I... more

We stayed at 'the Liner' last weekend, whilst in Liverpool for a function, and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. Arrival and 'check in' went smoothly, and staff were pleasant and courteous. Like many other reviewers we used the secure Car Park next door, but the location of the Hotel is just behind Lime Street Station, so very... more

booked as was intrigued by nautical theme - shouldn't have bothered- hotel is basically a travel inn with a bar/resturant, in fact i wish i had booked a travel inn as it was cheaper and at least you know what standard to expect. we had cigerette burn on the sheet, burn on the floor, peeling walpaper and someones clothing left... more

Booked for one night through GTA hotels. cost 92 including breakfast (bargin!). The hotel does look a little rubbish from the outside but it is very nice and new inside. The room we had was very roomy with a comfortable bed and very well maintained and cleaned- and like I have said everything seemed new. There was also complimentory shower... more

Booked for one night through laterooms (£125) double room b&b. The location is about a 20 minute walk to Albert Dock. From the outside, the hotel does not look good! The secure parking, included, is a bonus in Liverpool. We asked for a room away from Lime St station, which we got. The room was basic, with tea/coffee making facilities,... more

Just returned from a one night stay stay at The Liner (Friday 26th September 2008). Booked this hotel because it was near Liverpool University (about 10-15 mins walk) and we were attending the open day. The City Centre is also within easy walking distance. Reception staff were very efficient and friendly and explained the reasons for taking a £50 security... more

Stayed hear for one night on 30th August. The staff were friendly and efficient, room was pleasant, clean and of a good standard, as was the rest of the hotel. It's right next to Lime Street station, but we didn't experience any noise problems even though our room over looked it. We would definitely stay here again more
