This was the first time I had stayed in a Malmaison hotel and I was very disappointed. In my opinion Malmasion certainly over sells itself in its advertising literature. If my expectations hadn’t been so raised then I might not have been so disappointed. They state on their website: “Looking for somewhere exceptional to stay……….Well look no further, Mal Liverpool... more

Booked a double room. Got 2 single beds pushed together. Beds pushed apart in the night resulting in an injury. Hotel is lovely to look at and the Mal Burger was exquisite but concentrating so much on style has resulted in a lack of attention to basics such as providing milk with the coffee facilities or an easilly accessible plug... more

The hotel was very nice in a good location. We stayed on the ''eats sleeps drinks'' offer. . The food was great. The free cocktails included were also great. The rooms were dark coloured but brightened up with touches of purple. Very warm colours which were needed at this time of year. The bathroom was brilliant and shower was the... more

Stayed most recently with via my company and also stayed personally in September. Both visits were not what I would expect for what we paid. GLOOMY is how I would describe it rather than atmospheric. The rooms lack suitable lighting and it is really hard to find anything as you literally feel your way around. I had to move rooms... more

This is a hard to find hotel, it needs a sign from the main road to get to the front of the hotel where you collect your car park ticket and then park in the multi-storey car park next door at a cost of £15 for 24 hours. To find the entrance follow the road at the rear! When you... more

For a combination of reasons I have spent most of the last two months in hotels and other forms of accommodation. I can honestly say that this is the only hotel that I have not wanted to leave: I could have moved in to the Mal. From the instant I walked into the luscious lobby and was greeted by the... more

We stayed at MalMaison last spring and were rather surprised at how shabby it actually was. The room was small and dark with the pretense of being ultra-chic. Honestly, I felt like I was in an IKEA showroom - the faucet handles rattled and the mattress was like sleeping on a furniture showroom bed. Overpriced - fun to look at... more

My husband and I first stayed at the Malmaison in May 2007 just for 1 night on a social visit. Having previously lived in Liverpool, we were delighted to see such a stylish hotel appear in what had been rather a neglected city in recent years. The hotel is full of dark neo-gothic decor, but we really liked the fact... more

I stay at many hotels through my job. I have never had service like it. The staff were superb. The hotel itself is stylish and chic. The Mrs wanted to move in ! The food was superb. Without any hesitation I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of a weekend away. The only thing I would say is don`t... more

We had read mixed reviews on this site, people either seem to love or hate the hotel, however we could not fault it. the standard rooms were spacieous, with fantastic bathroom facilities, and comfy (if you like firm) super-sizebeds. the view next to a main road and the building work make for poor views, but there was no road noise... more
