Studley Castle was never a castle it was a Agricultural College for Young Ladies. The owners have done a good job of converting it into a hotel but its institutional roots still show. Guests take a very poor second place to prebooked parties. Beware if they put you in the Garden Room to eat. Due to distinct lack of local guests (probably a sign of the poor service etc) as you will most likely eat alone. This room is a long way from the kitchens so food arrives poorly presented and cold.
