I truly love it here. Relaxed atmosphere lovely clean rooms which are very comfortable. Whenever I go to Ireland this is the place to stay. Easy for Belfast and for the attractions around Strangford Lough. If you've gone further a field to Derry, Fermanah or the North Coast for the day there is the knowledge of a nice comfy bed... more

This hotel is set in the countryside outside of Belfast. A car is essential for both getting to the hotel and once you are there. The main business of the hotel seems to be conferences during the week and weddings at weekends. There have been numerous comments about the Shakespeare restaurant. The food is excellent quality Ulster fair. This means... more

A lovely quiet location, but close enough to Belfast city, for the shops and nightlife. The room was large, with 2 huge beds, very comfortable, clean and modern. The staff were very helpful, even the night porter serving drinks, chatting away - made the stay more memorable. Will definitely stay again, when seeing concerts in Belfast, and for a romantic... more

Top marks for nice spacious comfortable rooms with reliable inclusive wi-fi, and a good swimming pool. But...oh dear....the catering! - Not good, and because La Mon is way out of town, there's no local alternative. If you want to eat you have to have what they describe as "gourmet carvery" (two words which don't belong in the same sentence) which... more

Within such easy reach of Belfast city center yet so delightfully set in the countryside our stay at La Mon was a wonderful experience. Although arriving early our room was available and we were welcomed and immediately made to feel at home by the very pleasant receptionists. Our room was everything you would expect and the leisure facilities extensive. The... more

The la Mon Hotel was a complete contrast to the experience of staying in an impersonal 5 star hotel in London. We arrived a little after breakfast had finished and well before the official check in time but nothing was too much trouble - they rustled up a full Irish Breakfast and the rooms were ready when we had finished.... more

Charged £32 for dialling an 0800* number, wasn't even given a breakdown of phone charges, even after making formal complaint! more

I was expecting a country house hotel and spa but La Mon is more like a Premierlodge with pool and gym. On the plus side: clean, good value, large rooms; friendly staff; a good size pool and well-equipped gym. On the down side: the "Carvery" night at restaurant was more like an all-you-can-eat buffet, with rather dried out meat. Two... more

Am just back from a weekend away in this hotel, booked on the strengh of the excellent reviews on this site. While it is certainly a nice hotel with an excellent leisure centre, we were disappointed with a couple of things. The main thing was the restaurant. We had booked a package which included an evening meal. The restaurant menu... more

I recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this lovely hotel and would definately recommend it. The rooms are large, spacious and exceptionally well furnished with a very powerful, power shower in the spotless bathroom. The carpets are thick, the beds large and the pillows plump! The spa area is also very nicely done, with a decent size... more
