The room was, surprisingly, just like the picture on the website. But don't plan to walk from Place de Republique unless (a) the weather is nice and (b) you don't have much luggage. Instead, be sure to get off at Metro stop St Mauer as it is truly a 1-minute walk across the street. Clean rooms, smallish beds tho. (We... more

really bad customer service. in order to attract clients they tell you a very good price and once you are there (in 30 minutes) the price has doubled. if you complain about that, they give you an not satisfactory explanation treating you with anger. not a good way to manage a nice hotel and to treat a potential customer!! more

The Verlain is a business class hotel but is very central and 1min walk to closest metro. Room was basic but clean.. above average size for Paris hotels (unless your paying a small fortune). The lift is a bit small.. and it is old so you will have problems. But our room was on the 2nd floor and it was... more

Very clean room, professional welcome, nice breakfast and the most charming kitchenstaff. A lively, but very nice and "parisian" neighbourhood. A nice walk to the Seine and Pompidou etc. Recomendable! more

Do not trust the photographs which you find on Internet! They were undoubtedly taken by a very professional potographer, because reality is quite different … Narrow and dark corridors, tiny rooms (one can hardly circulate around the bed…), broken down elevator (and room on the sixth floor!), no Internet connection, no minibar… Frankly unpleasant personnel. Moreover, rather far away from... more

We stayed at this hotel this month. Our choice of this hotel was influenced greatly by the reviews in TripAdvisor.Com. Our room, and indeed the whole hotel were very clean, in spite of the fact that air conditioning was being installed in the individual rooms. Breakfast was a respectable Petit Dejeuner. It consisted of bread, cheese, cold cereal, juice, etc.... more

Service in the hotel was horrible. The clerk refused to give us an extra blanket, he talked on the phone for a very long time while we wre in front of him (with his boss, not with clients), he delayed us on the front desk twice for a long time because of their mistake with the rooms. Room was tiny... more

Stayed at this hotel for two nights in May. The room was small but adequate to fit the two of us and our luggage. There wasn't any air conditioning apparent in the room, which is not a problem in May, but might be of concern in July or August. It is close to the Parmentier Metro stop and plenty of... more

I think this is a great hotel for a low price. The room and bathroom were very clean and nice, but small. It's somewhat far from the main tourist areas in Paris, but it is easy to get around. Only a few minutes to the metro and about 10 Euros for the taxi ride from downtown and the North train... more

I stayed in the hotel in October. Its fairly small but very clean and spacious. The rooms were large by Parisian standards and had a large ensuite. I was very impressed with the overall standard of the hotel and its very reasonable price. The metro station is less than two minutes walk from the hotel door and very convenient to... more
