Booked because AirMiles recommended it. Checked TripAdvisor and noted the problem with rooms in annexe and would you believe it ...I got room 402 - up 4 flights in a tiny lift 2ft x 3'6 (I kid you not!). Main apartment door opens into 4 flats. Room itself clean but curtain hanging off and window that wouldn't open - but... more

I recently stayed at the XX Settembre Hotel and I had a great experience. The Hotel staff is kind and very good english speaking, they gave us advise on places to visit, restaurant, wine bar (just in 5 minutes walking).... The room wasn't very big but it was clean, with a minibar, Lcd screen, pay per view, free safe... In... more

Hotel was fine, apart from the loud water pump as warned by GloucestershirePip below as we too had room 401, the room itself was fine as was the bathroom. Just the water pump comes on everytime someone on that floor runs the tap and it is very annoying, otherwise fine. more

We spent 6 nights at the XX Settembre and it was wonderful! Our room was across the street from the main reception area in an old apartment building that they're apparently trying to buy up and convert into hotel rooms. The room and bathroom were both of good size, though the shower was a bit tight, large people would probably... more

We recently stayed at this hotel, based on the reviews we saw here. We got exactly what we expected; the staff were friendly, the hotel was very clean and the air conditioning in the room was great, seen as it was August! Had no problems at all, 24 hour check in was good as we arrived at about half nine... more

We were recently booked in to Settembre for 2 nights but checked out after the first one. We were put in room 110 in the new section and it was terrible! It was a loft style apartment, which, while new, & for what we paid, was small/pokey/horrible! The person that checked us in was extremely helpful but the next person... more

As other reviewers have said, the hotel was very clean and the staff efficient. The area does seem a little rough and ready. Rome does seem to love it's graffiti. We had four days walking around Rome and found everything within easy walking. One thing to look out for, if you are told you are going to be put in... more

My wife and I have just returned from Rome - we stayed at the XX Septembre. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, but clean and comfortable. Given how hot it was, we were relieved that the room had a remote control air-con unit which could be left on 24hrs if needed.... more

The hotel was in an uninspiring little street in a non-picturesque patch of Rome, but it was only five minutes walk from Termini, and even less from Republica metro station. It was very clean, the desk staff were courteous (they happily allowed me to check in early), and the breakfasts were OK. Definitely worth considering if you get a good... more

I just returned from stayiing at this hotel. The basic services were satisfactory, though nothing special. The hotel offers a "limo service" to the airport, as advertised at the front desk: 47 euro, no extra charge for luggage. Firstly, the hotel simply calls an ordinary Rome cab. Well, that is OK. But, secondly, the charge will be 65 euro or... more
