The Boscolo Dei Dogi is a lovely, out of the way hotel. I cannot say enough about its Canareggio location - perfect! To truly enjoy Venice, you must do so on foot. Venice is the quintessential walking city. That being said, I preferred being a 20 minute walk from the madness of St. Mark's. If you insist on water transport,... more

We stayed here for a long weekend - a surprise birthday present for me from my husband. Like others we loved the impressive building and the garden which is lit up at night and stretches right to the lagoon. We had a lovely big room looking over the canal furnished in traditional style with antique furniture and chandeliers. We liked... more

We stayed at the dei Dogi as part of a package, and were very impressed with the standard of accommodation and (particularly) the wonderful, quiet location in the Canareggio. Our room was sparkling clean and very well furnished, and the staff we met polite and helpful. Restaurant and minibar prices were steep - but we found plenty of good local... more

We had booked the Residenza Canargio (no 29 in the popularity list at the time of writing) but on arrival we were told that the hotel had a "technical problem" and we were being moved to another hotel which was 5*. I was disappointed because first impressions of our chosen hotel were very positive. At the Dei Dogi we were... more

We have just returned from our wedding in venice on the 9th Sept, and felt i must write of our FANTASTIC experience of this hotel, We had reservations on holding our reception here after the many negative reviews, and had we listened to them, we would have missed out on an amazing time. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, you only... more

The hotel occupies a long strip of land with water at both ends: the massive north lagoon at the garden end, and a narrow canal at the main entrance. The vaporetto stop 'Orto' (Madonna del Orto) is very nearby, on the lagoon, perhaps 5-10 minutes walk with your luggage - on wheels, I hope!. There is no hotel shuttle service,... more

I’ve read some negative reviews and nothing in them chimes with my experiences. I’ve always had excellent service - but I noticed this time it was exceptionally good and they issued questionnaires at the end, so I suspect Boscolo has taken to heart the negative reviews and they’re now bending over backwards. Whether you’ll like it depends on what you... more

I stayed at this hotel in April and was completely disappointed. Firstly, anyone who travels to Europe will know that there is a big difference between a five-star hotel in the USA and a five-star hotel in Europe. For novices, basically most five-star hotels in Europe are equalivalant to a basic four-star hotel in the USA and Canada. As others... more

Spacious, quiet and bright in a city where all three are hard to find in combination, this property has consistently impressed us over three visits in as many years. The rooms range from the relatively inexpensive and small (our first stay in one of them featured a view of Madonna del'Orto from the marble bathroom!) to grand, garden suites with... more

I stayed at this hotel some 5 years ago and found it to be very good. I wont be staying there again after the latest experience. I booked a junior suite and a standard room. On arrival the standard room was also upgraded to a suite, really good first impressions. The main suite was dark and dingy and the 2... more
