My wife and I spent our honey moon at Walt Disney World in 1974. Have been loving it for years. The campground is the best I have ever stayed in. The service and the people that wook there are the greatest. My family and I are be looking forward to our next visit. Sencerly , Illinois Disney People more

This was our first trip to the campgrounds and most likely our last. Upon arrival we found out that our reservations were for next year. The website is not user friendly so we called and spoke with a person who seemed confused and he booked us for next year. The did find us another site. The site was flat and... more

My husband and I have stayed at this location several times, and our last was just as great as always! One thing to keep in mind when booking your stay at the Disney World campground is that it is NOT your "typical" camping experience. For those that are used to the peace and quiet of a state park, and want... more

My husband and I made reservations at the Disney Fort Wilderness campground on Nov 21, 2008. A friend and her two sons joined us. As we pulled into our assigned campsite, our first small it was. All the sites in our loop were extremely cramped with little tree coverage. We could barely fit two 9 ft tents on the pad... more

This place is not for campers who want to enjoy the wilderness and relax in the peace and quiet. Fort Wildernes should be called "Fort Orlando" it was like spending the night at a truck stop. Big motorized, Diesel-powered RVs moving in and out till the middle of the night. Things did not settle down till well past 2:00am. Tent... more

This was our first Family Tent Camping trip ever and we were fortunate enough to go with two other families that had camping experience. Overall this was a WONDERFUL family trip and we learned a lot for next time. In fact we are already planning our next trip back to Fort Wilderness in the spring. Our stay was definately a relaxing and enjoyable stay. All of our expectations were met. We took the advice of other reviews on the trip advisor site and rented a golf cart, very wise choice since our children are 2 and 4. It is true that it is not a necessity if you are trying to save a few dollars,... more

Four generations of my family have camped at Fort Wilderness since it opened in 1971. Each time we go we decide to make another reservation as soon as we get home. Halloween at Fort Wilderness is like a fantastic block party with everyone decorating their site, their rv, golf carts, bikes, children, adults and pets. There are special craft and... more

We have visited Disney for several years during Dec for MVMC and this was the first time we stayed at Fort Wilderness, it was Magical!!! My only complaint is the cost of the golf cart rentals, they were the same as the lot prices each day!!! Thank God we had one golf cart that we brought, but we had to... more

Fort Wilderness normally gets pretty good reviews. I simply don't understand why. Maybe it's because avid campers are comparing it to other campgrounds. Of course, it's going to be a tad better than your mom and pop campgrounds...it's Disney World for pete's sake! However, for the thousands of dollars you spend, it should by all means have much better amenities... more
