This hotel should be shut down. Every area of the hotel is dirty and in a state of disrepair. I had intended to stay 6 nights at this hotel, before I saw it. We checked out after one night and went a few hotels away to the Sheraton. I contacted the hotel to complain after my stay and never received... more

We recently stayed at the Howard Johnson's in Williamsburg, Va. Upon entering the room the wall lamp had fallen off the wall & was laying across the tv. We immediatley called the desk & they sent a man to to fix it in about 1/2 hr. (he thought it was funny). We couldn't figure out how the maid had done... more

We arrived at the hotel and immediately noticed the shabby exterior. We decided to leave our bags in the car and check out the room. At the main entrance, an overflowing garbage bin attracted swarming bees. We checked in and took the elevator up. The elevator was dirty and the emergency phone was broken and hanging off the wall. The... more

We had a great experience at the Howard Johnson Historic Williamsburg, except for the fact that there was popcorn, tissues, and bottle caps on the floor, there was shampoo and used soap (with hair on it) in the shower, we had to switch rooms, the air conditioner wasn't great, the room smelled like smoke (it was non-smoking, but the smoke... more

I wasn't expecting very much from this place. Oh, was I wrong! It's terrible. There cobwebs and spider webs on the walls. The carpet was all worn out and dirty. The paint on the room door was falling apart. Oh, the smell in the room was awful!! The breakfast area is the same. more

This hotel was awful! It was run down and dirty. There was even one place that I forbid my children to go near because I was certain they would be electrocuted by a bad plug at the ice machine!!! The breakfast was cleaned up 45 minutes before it was supposed to, and when another guest asked why, the attendee said... more

10 minutes after our arrival an employee tried to break into our car. It was dirty and disgusting. I wish I had seen these reviews before booking. more

the entire hotel was very warm and stuffy. The lobby area was clean. Our room was horrible. It was dirty, the air conditioning didn't work properly - too warm and stuffy, the bathroom was dirty, the tub didn't look like it had been cleaned, the towels felt like sandpaper. There were ants in the room which we inadvertantly carried home... more

I have to admit I was drawn to this hotel because of the Howard Johnson name but I was very disappointed. This is not your typical Howard Johnson. When we came to check in I should have known. The desk clerk is very apathetic and didn't seem to realize the importance of customer service. I don't see how this place... more

This had a decent price in the roadside coupons, so I gave it a shot. My sister had a good visit here way back once upon a time when it was a Hampton Inn. The sign on the room door had a HoJo sticker over a Ramada sticker over a Hampton Inn sticker. The room was basic and OK. The... more
