The hotel was very nice. The front entrance with the gas lanterns are really cool. The main foyer to the hotel is very cool. Some of the staff could be a bit friendlier. The restaurant is under construction...and when open will be cuban/latin food. The small deli acoss the street served great food at good prices...although only open during the... more

This is NEARLY a really nice place to stay -- on the plus side, the room was very clean, nice quality linens, Aveda products in the bath, and a very attractive lobby. Also a fine location, quiet but easy walk to French Quarter or Warehouse district. But it is NOT anywhere near a luxury hotel as per their claim, at... more

Great location, great atmosphere -- definitely different from other hotels, awesome bar, great service -- very laid back yet professional. They make you feel comfortable and like as if you were at home, nice rooms for a boutique hotel -- I saw the different types of rooms and yea some are small and have different amenities, but what do you... more

I was in town for the Essence Music Festival, but I now know I don't need a special reason to visit New Orleans. The room was great, the staff was courteous (really enjoyed chatting with the doorman, although I didn't get his name) and I now know where I'll be staying any time I'm in New Orleans. more

Hotel is not for the business traveler. No desk in room, lighting is poor. There was a fire alarm, maybe its all the candels burning in the lobby, and a fire door closed off my room and no one could open it for almost two hours. Gave me three drink tickets for my inconvenience. No restaurant a minus. Coffee and... more

Stayed at International House pre-Katrina and it was FABULOUS. Stayed for 5 nights for a conference which included the last weekend of Jazz Fest 2008 and was down-right disgusted. Mod hotels (worth $359/night - yes, that's right, was Jazz Fest) should be impeccably clean- it was NOT. Tiles cracked in elevators and foyer, walls need painting, one handle missing on... more

I got a great deal on this hotel - $79 a night, so I gave it a try - why not! I was very impressed by the quality of the hotel, especially for the price I got. It is literally about a minute or two walk and you're in the heart of the French Quarter area - GREAT! As for... more

International House's best asset is its location. Very central, but also off the main streets, so the rooms are relatively quiet. The big disadvantage is the lack of restaurant. more

I stayed here for a business covention. The property is unique, cute and trendy. The rooms are little dark, but other than that it was a nice stay. It was centrally located so we could walk to everywhere we needed to get to. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip. Try Le Phare bar down the street,... more

I called the hotel and got a rate of $119 (Plus $30 a night parking fee) for that price I would say the hotel was above average. I didn't have any problems checking in. The valet serviece was a little slow for the price, but its a busy street so you can't expect too much. The French Quarter is just... more
