La Cusinga is a magical place, from the 180 degree view of the ocean on the horizon to the magical rainforest sounds of tides, monkeys and birds from our cabin, I felt that I was as close to tropical nature as I could possibly be without wilderness camping. The opportunity to see toucans and howler monkeys seems unparalleled. The peaceful... more

We were surprised at the rustic accomodations in the Las Gemelas cabins, but it was clean, the staff was VERY accomodating, and the gourmet meals were superb! The natural setting can't be beat- the views from the open-air lobby are amazing. We even enjoyed wildlife viewing during our meals and waking up to the howler monkeys! Plenty of tours to... more

The La Cusinga setting is one of a kind. The lodge building and cabins are beautiful in their simplicity and the lodge serves as a focal point for the area and sports a wonderful view. There is a refreshing aliveness about the surroundings. Plenty of wildlife provide chances for close encounters with several species of monkeys, kuwatis, and many birds.... more

"This place is a total homerun," exclaimed my husband, when our family of five arrived at La Cusinga for a three night, four day stay in the end of March, beginning of April. You drive down a short curvy, wooded road before appearing at the little parking area. The check in area is a long table with benches; important information... more

Thank you for your review! it was so much fun spending time with you all, to me it was one of the best weeks at the lodge. The April fool’s joke is just part of my job; we did not enjoy it at all JEJEJEJE... well just a bit... We hope to see you back here again, and I am...

I've traveled all around Costa Rica, and La Cusinga Lodge is one of my favorites. The cabins are works of art, and a real inspiration for sustainable building. They do not require air conditioning, because they take advantage of natural air currents, and the wood is from teak trees that were reforested on the property. The stone and shells also... more

Our third visit to La Cusinga was just as rewarding and pleasurable as our first visits here. The resort is awesome -the tranquility of the rainforest trails to the desolate, sandy beaches is quite amazing. The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the cozy cabinas, the wonderful fruits and delicious meals are also what makes our stay here so... more

We love La Cusinga - it is the perfect setting to teach a week-long workshop about learning from nature and sustainability because Cusinga shares the same values that we teach. The facility provides everything you would expect from a conventional lodge - good food, comfortable beds, beautiful accommodations, safe environment, access to interesting things to do - but does all... more

We have stayed at La Cusinga a couple of times while in Costa Rica on business. It is the perfect retreat for us. I often stay at the lodge all day while my husband is off working. It is perfect because you could spend a week on the property and still not have experienced all of it's magical beauty and... more

We went to La Cusinga expected an eco-friendly environment. We got that and so much more! The feel was as if you had joined a big happy family. The meals were delicious and healthy. The views were spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again if I get the opportunity to return to Costa Rica. more
