“Great Economy Apartments”

Robin's Nest

I moved to Bermuda in June 2008 and stayed at Robins Nest for 2 weeks whilst I found a perminent place to live.

The apartments are modern, clean and come with a small kitchen area (microwave, fridge, oven).

There is a local store 5 minutes walk away, a great (but small) beach (Admiralty Point) 15 minutes walk away and Hamilton is a 30 minute walk away. The apartments also have ample scooter parking.

The area where Robins Nest is located is a little off the beaten track - it's a residential area and there are no other hotels in the vicinity. This means that most of the Islands main attractions will require you to take a taxi, bus or a scooter (ie you cannot walk to them). Whilst Hamilton is only a 30 minute walk, the heat and lack of pavements (sidewalks) mean it isn't an easy option...

If you're a business traveller/new resident on a budget or you're a tourist looking for a good value apartment and don't mind being "out of town" then I recommend Robins Nest.

Robin's Nest is a really great place stay - we rented two units for our family in August . The rooms were very comfortable and clean, with excellent air conditioning! We mostly had the pool to ourselves, the gardens and the view were beautiful and the Robinsons were friendly, helpful folks!
It worked well for us to walk down to the bus each morning, bus around all day then catch a cab home at night. The proximity of Robin's Nest to Hamilton really helped!

“Relaxed and friendly”

Milt and Renee are the most laid back and helpful hosts we have stayed with. We had a great room overlooking the pool and gardens, and it also has the essential air con, you can't survive without this.
The pool we had to ourselves, although the cove at nearby Admiralty House is very secluded and great for swimming / snorkeliing, but visit Horseshoe Bay, but go when the cruise ships have departed and you have it virtually to yourself, Friday's are the best days.
You can't buy alcohol at the store on a Sunday, which we weren't aware of, so our hosts lent us some beers until the next day, great people!
You have to hire a scooter to get to see the best of this fantastic island. A taxi into Hamilton for a meal at night is also reasonable.
The golf courses are fantastic, even if Tiger thinks he's too good for them!
Best of all are the people, we have never come across such genuinely helpful and pleasent people, you can't pass anybody in the street without some form of conversation taking place.

“Very private cozy cottage”

Robin's Nest

If you want to be near the ocean with a view, this is not the place, but it is in walking distance of a nice little cove and a park. Very economical for $125/nt. the apt was really more like a small 2 BR cottage. Very quiet, clean and neat with all the amenities, except a blender. It is not plush by any means, very homey. Very nice private patio with umbrella table, chairs and lounge chairs. You practically have the pool to yourself which we used quite often when we weren't out sightseeing. Bus stop is a 5 minute walk, but a quick ride to Hamilton & bus station where you can catch another bus to wherever you want to go or just spend the day there. This apt. is in an out-of-the-way part of the island. Buses do not run through the area much later than 6 p.m. We took alot of cabs because you cannot rent a car. Only scooters and they're pretty scary unless you're used to riding them on really narrow roads with stone walls along the sides. There is also a grocery store near by (The Point Market neighborhood store) just a 5 minute walk away. The owner's are in the process of finishing up a new building with 6-8 new apts overlooking the pool. They're a really nice couple. This was our 2nd visit to Bermuda. Twice is enough. Too many other beautiful and interesting places to see. But, if you've never been there it's worth it even if the food is very expensive. Consider taking some food/liquor with you. And, consider using USA3000 Airlines, new out of Baltimore. Good rates, GREAT service! If you go, be sure to visit the Swizzle Inn!
