Okay, contrary to the great reviews this is a bad one and a complete disappointment in staying at the Reefs.
On my third trip to Bermuda; the Reefs was both a disappointment and an adventure, with the manifestation of ants in the room, and quite expensive with many hidden charges. Booked a Premiere Room at $578.00/night to learn that maid service for the room happened at 3:00p.m. for 5 nights, and the room was small save your money and book a delux room which is no different.
Construction is an interruption and be prepared in the future with the addition of 100 more residences THE REEFS it will not be the same to accomodate the vast influx of new time share residences, and it will not be the same. WITH SUCCESS GOES THE SPOILS for those booking in the future, after this year, so enjoy the Reefs this year. Their Beach is continually errroding, and it is small, as we battled through high surf with tropical hurricane Bertha and at high tide you have no beach.
My wife was doubled charged for the spa on the beach, so be sure to over over your bill carefully ,if you pay in cash. Dinner on the beach at Coconuts will cost you $90.00/couple for service and this was not let known in the package, and David Thomas, head front desk clerk, fumbled through a lame explantion at time of check out.
Felt sorry for the elderly people staying at the Reefs, as their is no accomodations for these people negotiating the many steep stairs with no assistance provided. It is not handicapped friendly.
On our last day we stopped at Coconuts for two coke's before departing, after spending $3,000 for 4 nights the charge was $6.85 for the two soft drinks and a friendly good bye . I approprietatly gave the bartender a not so CHERRY O!
The Reefs needs a major overhaul in the many #300 rooms , while they spend money on new apartments the rest of the property is torn up by the destruction of the old Wynham Hotel, loss of tennis courts and an erroding beach and construction annoyance and property that has been ripped up by storms deteriation. The reefs MOONWALK GATE, the Bermuda icon, is no longer, blocked off by construction debris and neglect and a path way patrolled by K9 dogs. Beware and Tresspassings signs all over the property.
Once the construction ends, the construction laborers spend more time looking at the bikini's on the Beach than on the job, you will have a resort destroyed in character and old charm which will never be replaced Beware of a possible disappointment, enjoy the Ants for your vacation dollars.
I would look to the Elbow Beach Club or Pompano Beach Club for a better beach with Pink Sand and a greater location.
