Had a fabulous vacation with my wife and our seventeen year old twins boy/girl. The staff was very friendly smiling and helpful Travel Hint: TIP THEM! smile back at them and treat them with respect, they are wonderful people!. The food was great at the many included specialty resturants and the 4 buffets. The beach is fanatastic with plenty of water sports at hand and no one pestering us to purchase things or look at time shares. When our flight was delayed a day by hurricane Dean they and Conquest gave us 2 other rooms for the extra night with the all inclusive plan no charge. The resort is huge with plenty to do. It was the most relaxing vacation yet. I'll be going back!

My husband & I and another couple stayed at the Casino Resort in Punta Cana the 1st week of May. It was not busy at all, and that is one of the reasons I think we received very good service. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

Listed first are the pros:

Very nice grounds
Beautiful Beaches
Food was good
The 2 restaurants we went to were very good
Transportation between resorts was good.

Cons:
The rooms at the Casino Resort need major renovations. We had 2 double beds and one of them smelled of urine. Also the room was very musty smelling.

My husband drank a few ounces of water by mistake and got diarrhea. Imodium didn't help at all. Luckily I had brought a prescription medication and he was fine after that. Our friend also got sick. He had diarrhea and threw up. We really don't know what caused his sickness.

They had very little entertainment . I don't know if it was because it was a slow time of the year or its always like that.
The show Tropicalipsimo was terrible. If you don't understand Spanish, you don't know what they are singing.

I don't think I would go back, only because I do not like to put so much effort into watching what I eat and drink to avoid sickness.

We have been there during February 2007.
The Resort is composed of 5 different complex and you can move inside totally in freedom.
The food is very nice (especially the Steak House!) and the staff very friendly and gentle...
Room very comfortable and clean.
Fantastic Beach and swimming pool!!....
I really reccomend it!!

March 4-11, 2007 Niagara Falls/ Canada
The resort itself is in a beautiful location and the grounds are kept up quite nice. The sand fells like silk and goes on forever.
Rooms-They were kept clean and bar frige kept stocked. It does help to tip them and they are very polite. One day they clean in am and next in afternoon. So if you want an afternoon siesta the room is not always done.
Buffet- Usual and gets tiresome. Steaakhouse was great. Pizza on the beach good.
Pools- At the casino it was always quiet.This was nice after the busy beach.
Bars- The bar service; Piano bar was great (at night).The pool bar was horrible. Tip or no tip. Anywhere from 4-6 people working and they couldn't care less. We heard from other people thatthey used to circle around and take orders but due to poor management that they don't. I don't care if someone brings me a drink but when you go to the bar even if you tipped you were botheringing them. This s not exclusive to just the casino but also all the rest. Went to the beach bar and asked for coke, water and beer. Got the first 2 but walked away for third. They would even tell you no more than 2. Often you heard people swearing at them in all languages. They would stand and talk to each other and not get drinks with afull bar. I have seen people be shunned because of their attitude but never to everyone in general.
Activities- Not much of anything. Everything is done at the beach.
We still had a good time but however would not return here or any of the other Barcelo in Punta Cana.
I did read the reviews about service problems and thought people were being too fussy but found out this is not the case.
I did go to management ona particular rude staff member and he said he had spoken to this person just 5 minutes prior and spoke to him again. Did nothing for his rude behavior.
