Let me begin by saying that I will gladly answer any private messages/questions from anyone. There were 4 of us traveling: Me, my husband, and our 2 daughters (20 & 22). We arrived July 16th and departed July 26. We also renewed our vows on the 21st.
First, I booked the trip through Resort Vacations to Go, AKA Travel Impressions, and it could not have been simpler. The agent was willing to take care of all of my requests and questions with a quick yes! Everything was handled and we had no worries, including not having to pay the $20 exit fee. We also had a representative on resort daily to assist with questions or booking excursions if we needed.
Upon arrival at the resort, we were greeted by Carol. She saw to it that we were given a cold towel (very appreciated) and a refreshing drink. Check-in was so quick and easy. We were directed to our rooms, 5007 for the girls & 5106 for us. Our bags arrived within 10 minutes.
The room: Just as lovely as the pictures. We had rum & cigars waiting for us. A lovely fruit basket arrived shortly after. As we were "honeymooners", a lovely bottle of champagne also arrived quickly. Our rooms were always impeccably cleaned, smelled wonderful, and never failed to have extra touches.
The service: Wow! Did they pamper me every single moment, no, but they always went above and beyond for us. Anything we needed or wanted was simply one phone call away. Guest services would make sure everything was quickly handled. Housekeeping always made sure we had lovely flowers. When we returned to our room after our vow renewal, the turn down maid had even gone to the extra trouble of using palm fronds & flowers to decorate the floor and spell out "happy wedding" and placed flowers on the bed. These lovely touches made everything special. Everyone was willing to do whatever to make you happy. Emilio in the lobby bar was so entertaining and wonderful. He was always a good way to end the day. Niki, Jose Q. & Luis always made sure dinner was a worry-free affair. This included the dinner for our renewal. The wedding cake was supposed to have been moved to the steak restaurant and set up for us. It was not there when we arrived and I became anxious. Jose Q. said that he was there and to have no worries. We finished our dinner and were just about ready for the still unseen cake. Jose Q. had been on the phone and then rushed out. He returned a short while later with our cake. As it turned out, it had been left at the beach restaurant and, Jose, rather than disappoint me, ran all the way there and back (with the cake!). Such wonderful people!
Food: I had no issues what so ever with the food. Between the 4 ala cartes and the 2 buffets (not to mention room service), we always had plenty to eat. The filet mignon at the steak restaurant was our favorite. The Italian restaurant had wonderful pizza and pasta choices. We only did the seafood restaurant once and had a surf & turf. The fondue restaurant was wonderful as well. We also enjoyed the Asian night at the buffet and the Dominican party on the beach (so many choices!). We only went to the neighboring resort for one meal (chose not to be around the kids). We went to the Mexican restaurant. It was okay. Perhaps we are more picky about Mexican food coming from Texas. We did the main buffet for breakfast and lunch every day and snacks at the beach buffet. We never failed to find many things that pleased each of us (at least 2 very picky eaters!). I have nothing but good things to say about the food and drinks!
Spa: We 3 girls did the mini spa for massages that were wonderful. It was $34 US for about 30 minutes and well worth it. One daughter also had her hair braided there for about $80 US. We did not use the main spa so I can't speak about that but the mini spa was great!
Excursions: My husband and youngest daughter did the zipline tour with the Bavorro Runners. They completely enjoyed themselves. My husband came back so jazzed! My oldest daughter and I did the parasailing with the company right there on the resort's beach. The parasailing itself was incredible but the boat ride was not so great. I do get a little sea sick but I am usually able to control it. However, they kept us on the boat for a very long time for no reason. Boats came to put more people on but would leave empty. We were on the boat for over an hour after we did the parasail. I regret that I did get sick. They finally called for a boat but instead of taking us to our beach first, they went to the other end and began dropping people off. We were to be last but as I could not take any more, we got off and walked the rest of the way. So bottom line, loved the parasailing but if you have a tendency to get sick in rougher waters, make sure you get their word to let you off as soon as possible!
Grounds: So well kept and absolutely beautiful. They are constantly taking care of the grounds and pool. Who could ask for more!
Vow Renewal: We had our ceremony on the beach. They thought of everything from decorating the cart to drive us to making a decorative aisle on the beach for me to walk down. Everything was provided for and we were treated like royalty. Francelia, the wedding coordinator, was fully prepared for our arrival and took care of everything for us. I would definitely suggest them for anyone wanting to renew or even have their wedding.
Shopping: There are many shops on the beach for shopping. As you come onto the beach from the resort, if you begin walking to your left down the beach, you will encounter the beach shops after about a 10 minute walk. Stay by the water to avoid the timeshare guys and even the shop sellers if you are not shopping. Do not be afraid to negotiate the price. You should never pay more than 50% of the original asking price and you can get it even cheaper. Simply be polite and friendly and stick to your pricing.
Airport: Upon arrival, we had no problems getting our luggage. Be prepared that plenty of people will be more than ready to take your luggage for you. There's no problem with this except it is just right around the corner. As soon as we turned the corner, our representative was waiting for us and immediately got us into the van with AC and loaded our luggage. Upon departure, the line was not bad and moved quickly enough to get checked in. There were two more lines (customs & security), both of which moved quickly enough. There are places to eat right after that, including a Wendy's. This part of the airport is open-air and can be rather hot. If you move over to the other part where the gates are, you will find AC, snacks, ice cream, bar & shops as well. Definitely more comfortable.
Overall: I would highly recommend this resort. Is it for families? No, this is an adult only resort. We enjoyed this aspect quite a bit. The rooms, service, food, people, and grounds were all that we expected and more! Everything is geared to insuring you have a good time from the beach/pool beds to the people always waiting on you. You can book a trip to the Punta Cana Princess and rest assured that you will have a wonderful trip!

“"Another Fantastic Stay At PCP"”

Date of our stay: Aug 1-8

This was our 2nd trip to Punta Cana and also to PCP! From the moment we reached the desk to register, we felt at home!
Check In: We were the only ones checking in, as we took a taxi from the airport and arrived before the bus. We were greeted with a cold towel and a fruit drink. Our check in went very quick and smooth. We were also surprised to find out that we were given the room which we had requested and we were also upgraded to VIP. What a nice surprise!!!

Lobby: The lobby was the way we remembered it! Extremely clean, air flowing through and people lounging around with their favorite drink in their hand.

Our Room: Our room (1210) was immaculate! The bottle of rum, cigars and a fresh fruit basket was waiting for us. There was a beautiful heart with fresh flowers made out of towels sitting on the desk along with a note from Diana (Guest Services) wishing us a Happy Anniversary! That was another surprise!! By the time we took all that in, our luggage was promptly brought to our room.

Grounds: The grounds were manicured to perfection! Not once did we see a piece of garbage or a cigarette butt on the ground. Everytime we went for a walk, a grounds keeper would offer to get us a coconut. One morning I was sitting on the balcony and was asked if I wanted a coconut, within 5 minutes the grounds keeper had climbed the tree, cleaned the coconut and thrown it up to our balcony! That was well worth the tip that I threw down to him.

Staff: The staff was extremely friendly, just as we had remembered. What really amazed us was, they remembered us from our last trip, which was in April 2008. I think that's pretty amazing considering how many people they meet over time. There wasn't one staff member that did not say "Hola" as they walked by us!!

Pool: The pool was clean, not over crowded and we didn't have a problem getting a lounger or a bed. The swim up bar, well of course that's just special!! It's much more special when Nelson remembers what you drink!!!!

Beach: The beach was as clean as it could be. The did clean it several times a day, but the waves were quite strong so the sea grass just kept appearing. No problem getting a beach bed or a lounger, not like the last time we were there.

Food: I am not a breakfast person, but my Hubby did go and he said he ate it all and all was good. He did bring me muffins and yogurt which was very good. The coffee is great, if you like strong coffee! For Lunch we would go to the Mare Nostrum for the buffet. There was nothing really special, but all was good! For dinner we would mainly eat at the Casabe Buffet. There was always a different theme and the food was good and hot. I loved the pasta station! Every second night we went to Rio Grande Tex Mex. Hubby had to have his steak. The steak was always cooked as ordered!!!

Overall: We'll be back and hopefully soon!!

Hotel was very clean, the only issue I had was everytime we opened our door to go our we let in a swarm of mosquitoes that then feasted on us all night when we got back to the room. Would recommed you spray mosquito repellent around the outside of your door then you probably wouldn't have any problems. I ended up with over 100 bites on my lower legs but my companions got very few.

Every day they hose down and sweep the walkways so they are always nice and clean. Only problem I noticed was one day there was broken glass on one of the walkways and when I pointed it out to a staff member they weren't too interested in getting it cleaned up. Possibly they didn't understand what I was saying as very few staff seemed to understand English.

Food was great. Lots of choices at the hotel and you can go to the sister hotel and eat at their restaurants as long as you make reservations. Really loved the Tex Mex restaurant and the margaritas there!

Staff were wonderful and friendly and it's amazing how a little spanish goes a long way.

Would definitely recommend this hotel except for those that like to party all night, hotel gets very quiet at night. Definitely paradise! As well it's an adults only hotel which made it even better. Loved this place and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

“Wonderful Resort”

We were a group of 4 couples we stayed at the resort from the 2nd-9th of August. Let's start by saying the resort and staff are all great the beach is the most beautiful beach I've seen. The staff tries very hard to understand english which really isn't their problem since we came to their country. None of us never got sick from the food and we already knew not to drink the water but they provide bottled water at all the bars and restaurants all you had to do was ask. Hats off to Steicy at the front desk,Emilio at the lobby bar and Santa at the beach restaurant you guy's were the best. The animation team was awesome and they tried to keep everyone entertained. If you are looking for a party resort go somewhere else we were there to relax away from our kids and everyday lives. We will be back in the near future.

“We loved it! No major complaints here!”

Punta Cana Princess All-Suites and Spa Resort

My now fiance and I went to the Princess last summer and had arguably one of the best trips of our lives. To start with, the staff was fantastic. We were making friends with all the staff members, which really gave the resort a personal touch. We felt that they knew us and treated us like VIP's. It really does make a difference when you go out of your way to treat people nicely, because a lot of times, they will reciprocate.

The rooms were more than large enough for the 2 of us. The maids kept them clean and turned down our beds for us each night.

I notice the bad reviews are picking on the food here at the resort. I personally did not expect gourmet meals, so maybe this is why the food did not bother me. I'll admit, their idea of pizza and hot dogs at the snack bar or not what most of us would get at home, but the restaurants and buffet did not make me sick or make me think that the food is terrible. The food was just above average. Not the best, but certainly not as bad as some seem to think.

The beaches were fantastic! We upgraded to the VIP package and had access to the beach beds. Well worth the extra money in my opinion!

On nights when we could think of nothing better to do, we would head out to the casino nearby. Someone from the resort will drive you in a golf cart off the resort grounds and drop you off right in front of the casino door. The casino had some black jack, craps, roulette, slots and a poker table. Perfect for any gambler! When you wanted to go home, just go out front and tell the guys where you need to go and if a Princess cart was not already there, they would call one in for you. Very easy and never felt unsafe.

Some nights, we just felt like walking off our dinner, so we would just walk the resort and enjoy our surroundings. The resort contains unique plant and wild life.

I do not fault anyone for writing a bad review if they had a bad experience. It is possible that sometimes we get lucky and encounter very few problems, while others do not get so lucky. So while I will not guarantee that you have a flawless vacation, but I will say that the Punta Cana Princess holds the potential for an amazing vacation!
