Coyaba is a great resort... The people are lovely, the food and the drinks are wonderful. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the ocean views are quite nice. In particular I recommend Gladstone the bartender, he was extremely friendly and always found a way to help us out. We also had really good experiences with Detroy and Fitzroy as waiters while we were there, as well as several other waiters who unfortunately we didn't get to learn their names. Alex and Kaydrian amongst the management were also very friendly and helpful. In particular they were all concerned and helpful with my dietary restrictions (I can't eat anything containing wheat, rye or barley). Also, I want to mention Richard the senior bell hop. He really made us feel welcome at the start of our trip and was helpful in making leaving as easy as possible.

The thing to remember about Coyaba is that it is a small resort that is more oriented towards giving you a place to relax and unwind than to party. Its close enough to Montego Bay that you can get to the strip if you want to party. Generally though evenings at the resort itself are quiet; there is some live music at dinner but, generally its background music, not dance music. The beach is small and you are in a lagoon, but that makes it nice and easy to swim.

Despite being small, the food is excellent and generally there is a good variety and served in generous quantities. Unless you plan on going out to eat a lot, I recommend the all inclusive plan. It is pretty pricey, but if you like to drink at all, it won't be hard to make up the price.

Overall, I would say the place is ideal for a Romantic Getaway. My wife and I both agree that our honeymoon there was exactly what we needed and we hope to be able to return again in the future.

Awesome Hotel, quiet, clean, nicely decorated beautiful property.

Found the food overpriced, although delicious.

I have just experienced the most wonderful time of my life. I planned my wedding at Coyaba and boy did they exceed my expectations. This small intimate resort was just what I was looking for to have my special day. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff. Although some of the rooms were not available because of our early arrival, the staff made sure that we were comfortable. They provided us will cool refreshing beverages. The view was breathtaking. I could not have imagined a better back drop for my wedding. The food was outstanding. My favorite meal was breakfast. I enjoyed the jerk shrimp omelet along with a variety of fresh fruits (mango and pineapple were very delicious) and pastries. The service was excellent. Roland, Gladstone, Darlton, and Darron were attentive to all of our needs. Guest Services Manager, Alex Kong was phenomenal. He made sure that my wedding was one to remember. He even remembered to save the top of my wedding cake so that I could take it home. My reception was filled with food, fun, and fellowship. All of our accompanying guests were treated special. Gabi Sandefur was instrumental in coordinating my special day. She put my mind at ease. Everything that I could have wanted was made available. To top everything off, the wedding was very affordable. This was truly a stress free wedding. If you ever have an opportunity to visit Montego Bay, Jamaica, make sure you experience the Coyaba Beach Resort. I am a very satisfied customer. My fiance' and I are looking forward to spending our first anniversary at Coyaba next June.

“Coyaba was wonderful”

Coyaba Beach Resort

5 of 5 stars

My mom and I stayed at the Coyaba for a week. We were looking for a low-key, restful place and we definitely got that. With 50 rooms, the Coyaba is just the right size for low-key. The pool and beach are both pretty small, as is the gym. The food was great. Everyone should definitely take advantage of the complimentary 4 p.m. tea and various pastries hour. The other great thing about the Coyaba is the staff. They were incredibly responsive. We booked a room w/ 2 double-beds and when we arrived they had one w/ only 1 king bed. When we mentioned our booking, they immediately switched us and upgraded us to a beach-view from a garden view. The food etc. isn't cheap and my mom was a little put out by the fact that we always got different bills from the bar and food (with two people to tip), but ultimately what you'd expect from a resort like the Coyaba. A few of the restaurants in town give you free transportation- which is good since you probably want to "break out of the compound," every once in a while.
