Rondel was our first stay at a non all inclusive in Jamaica. We were very happy with our choice. We booked a three bedroom villa and it was perfect for our family.
The villas were a little closer together than I had pictured, but still ended up giving us all the privacy we needed. The way the balconies were situated and the lush landscaping made it work well. We had plenty of room for the entire family to spread out. We especially enjoyed the patio set on our veranda, and the private hottub was great for those days when the thunderstorms cut short our beach time. The tvs had lots of channels and the kids were happier than they were with the channel selections at Beaches from prior trips. Maid service was great, and everything in the villa worked as it should. The mp3/CD players were a big plus. The only thing missing that I would have liked was a small table and chairs for the kitchen.
Security was great and kept us from being pestered or overcharged on the beach. Johnno was especially good with that. I felt very safe. Although the beach was not huge, there were always plenty of loungers and security always set them out for us when we got there, even before we got there some days. All of the staff members were friendly and very hardworking.
Rondel was in a good spot on the beach, we were able to walk to lots of restaurants and the atm at the duty free center. We had no problems walking the beach day or evening. The latest we walked was about 10:00pm, unless it was just the two of us coming back from Tony's bar(very close). Cabs were easy to get to visit places up in the cliffs. Negril Escape, LTU, Xtabi, The Hungry Lion all excellent with beautiful sunset and moonlit views. We were able to walk to Marleys by the Sea, Rainbow Arch, Selina's, Kuyaba, 23/7, Charela and Our Past Time(that was a long walk, but great burgers and fries). Many many days we just watched for the jerk pork, patties and ice cream that made its way down the beach around noon. Although we didn't cook in the villa, lots of other guests did. The fish brought in at the beach tempted my husband every day.
Last but certainly not least was the wonderful guests we met at Rondel. They made the vacation unforgetable :)
