“Loved our room at Rondel.”

Rondel Village

Someone else booked our room and at first I was disappointed not to be on the beach side but once we got there I actually preferred our garden-view room which is across the street from the main hotel.

It was on ground level and very private. Lovely pool was right outside the door. AC unit was freezing cold which was great but bed was a bit hard.

Clean room and very helpful staff.

We had dinner at the hotel--very nice outdoor dining room right by the ocean. Food was good (not great). Service excellent.

Enjoyed our 3 day stay at Rondel Village.

PS Our JUTA driver from airport to hotel was great. He also drove us back to the airport and to Ricks.

Got his card--his name was Dwayne Allen . Cell (876) 436-6919/ 365-1204

“Perfect for families”

Rondel was our first stay at a non all inclusive in Jamaica. We were very happy with our choice. We booked a three bedroom villa and it was perfect for our family.

The villas were a little closer together than I had pictured, but still ended up giving us all the privacy we needed. The way the balconies were situated and the lush landscaping made it work well. We had plenty of room for the entire family to spread out. We especially enjoyed the patio set on our veranda, and the private hottub was great for those days when the thunderstorms cut short our beach time. The tvs had lots of channels and the kids were happier than they were with the channel selections at Beaches from prior trips. Maid service was great, and everything in the villa worked as it should. The mp3/CD players were a big plus. The only thing missing that I would have liked was a small table and chairs for the kitchen.

Security was great and kept us from being pestered or overcharged on the beach. Johnno was especially good with that. I felt very safe. Although the beach was not huge, there were always plenty of loungers and security always set them out for us when we got there, even before we got there some days. All of the staff members were friendly and very hardworking.

Rondel was in a good spot on the beach, we were able to walk to lots of restaurants and the atm at the duty free center. We had no problems walking the beach day or evening. The latest we walked was about 10:00pm, unless it was just the two of us coming back from Tony's bar(very close). Cabs were easy to get to visit places up in the cliffs. Negril Escape, LTU, Xtabi, The Hungry Lion all excellent with beautiful sunset and moonlit views. We were able to walk to Marleys by the Sea, Rainbow Arch, Selina's, Kuyaba, 23/7, Charela and Our Past Time(that was a long walk, but great burgers and fries). Many many days we just watched for the jerk pork, patties and ice cream that made its way down the beach around noon. Although we didn't cook in the villa, lots of other guests did. The fish brought in at the beach tempted my husband every day.

Last but certainly not least was the wonderful guests we met at Rondel. They made the vacation unforgetable :)

“Paradise with an Ocean View”

I have been going to Negril Jamaica since the late Eighties, my wife since the late Seventies, and we have finally found the perfect place- Rondel Village. Having stayed at many different hotels, from the rustic thatched roof rooms to the high-end all-inclusives, there is no better value in Jamaica. We have returned to Rondel Village for the last 7 years straight, and would no longer consider anyplace else.

Our first stay there was in late 2000, after it was newly remodeled. While we experienced an issue with water in the shower( which was fixed ASAP), the response by the staff was nothing less then outstanding and really exceeded my expectations (during a stay at a different hotel around 1985, an overnight thunderstorm took out the power and water, and we were introduced to the "no frills day" by the staff there).

We always get the one room villa, which is quite large- close to 1000 square feet I think. The front room is a large kitchen, dining and living area with a small bath, with the back half being a large bedroom, large bathroom and private outdoor Jacuzzi. You won't find a more relaxing and comfortable place this size, at this price, anywhere in Negril!

I mentioned the remodel in 2000, but it hasn't ended there. They continue to improve and reinvest in the property. This past year there was all new leather funiture in our villa, and I could swear a new mattress. DVD players and iPOD compatible radios in the rooms were a nice new addition as well.

The location is near the center of the 7 Mile Beach, so it is very conveniently located, and a short 10-15 minute walk to the center of town, 5 minute walk to the Duty Free Shopping Center.

And finally the staff...the front desk, housekeeping, groundskeeping, security and wait-staff are all wonderful, and make us feel at home. My only complaint about Rondel is that they make us feel at home and part of the family- making it extremely difficult to get on the return flight home. Other then that, you'll get that Irie feeling the minute you get there!

“Loved Rondel Village!”

Having never been to Jamaica, many people recommended we stay in an all-inclusive. We decided instead on Rondel Village, which was the best decision. Rooms are breezy and clean, staff is personal and committed to making you comfortable, and the restaurant on their property serves good Jamaican breakfasts! I got engaged on this trip and found out afterward that the staff had been helping my boyfriend with the whole proposal!
Definitely would stay here again, no question about it!

I brought my girlfriend for her first trip to Jamaica in May, 2007. After spending several vacations with my family in the past 27 years at Rondel, I knew this was the place to come back to. For the price and the people, there is no better spot. If you are a resort kind of person, this is not for you. If you are low maintenance, enjoy the people, and can handle the beach peddlers, then come here. We were on a budget and we easily stayed within it here.
Be specific when making your reservation, require your room be on the beach side, otherwise the appeal is not there. Clive at the bar is the man, and Donna is very helpful in the office. I sent her ten emails previous to our arrival and really bugged her about our room, she was delightful and helpful.
I love Jamaica, when it is cold in Chicago, my heart is in Negril. Rondel is the smart place to stay.
