My husband and I stayed at Casa Alta Vista for 2 nights.It is located in a convenient location. About 5 minutes walk to a stretch of restaurants.Casa also provide simple breakfast like cereal,muffins,coffee.The staff are super friendly and ever so helpful which makes our stay even more comfortable.I will definitely recommend Casa to other travellers.

This was our second time on Vieques; first time for my kids ages 10, 7 and 4; second time staying at CAV. Mark and his staff are friendly and very helpful (although I didn't see any faces from last year). We stayed in room #7 which was the family room and my mother in law stay in room #4 which was the first floor up. The kids slept in a bunk bed and our bed was a queen size. We had a fridge and a microwave that we used frequently. Our rooms were tended to when we went to the beaches and we brought back a lot of sand when it involves three little kids. Mark had a continental breakfast for us every morning which was a nice touch. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast because I was up and early out fishing the flats on the island. It is close to the restaurants in Esperanza. My next trip to Vieques may be a a couple of years but I will have no problems staying at CAV again.

We had high expectations of our stay in Esperanza on Vieques, and they were all met or exceeded. Casa Alta Vista is just 2 blocks from the Malecon, which is the waterfont promenade in the town of Esperanza. We walked everywhere, and with incentives (like the offer of candy from the little store on the ground floor of Casa Alta Vista), even my 3- and 5-year old had no difficulty walking to and from town. Casa Alta Vista is also a very short drive (or even a fairly short jog--which I did) from some of the very nicest beaches. Our hosts were exceptionally friendly and accomodating, providing us with inflatable "floaties" to use in the water. I will say that we were in the minority, having young children with us, but even the room we stayed in was well placed for young kids. Attached is a photo of my younger son at Media Luna Beach enjoying the floatie provided by Casa Alta Vista. I think it speaks for itself!

Checked-in without any problems. We made out reservations by phone and received a nice email confirmation. We stayed on the top floor and had a view over the trees to the water. As with most of the other reviews, we found the room to be small and you will basically want to use it for sleeping, showering, and changing. Small fridge in the room is very convenient. Store downstairs as all the basics and very reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful. We rented both a scooter and car directly from the CAV, but you'll probably want to make sure these are available when you make your reservation and/or checkin. Roof patio is a communal area and we met several friendly guests up there, including some who we would eventual go to dinner and drinks with... Town is just 2 blocks away. Roosters will wake you up nice and early, but the neighborhood is good and fairly quiet. We had islandwide power outages while there, but this is common on Vieques and not CAV's fault. CAV has lukewarm water most of the time, but it gets you just as clean as hot water so deal with it. Overall, a nice clean place to rest your head with more services and advice than you would expect from a small average looking hotel.
