“On Cayman Brac one of the best dive operations we have ever used.”

We have been diving for over ten years, mostly in the Carribean. On the Brac, after an initial disappointing experience with one of the dive operations several years ago, we have usually just done shore diving. In March, 2008 we went back to the Brac for our third visit and had the best week of diving in our experience. A big piece of this was our accidental discovery of Indepth and 2 days of absolutely spectacular diving with them.

Indepth is relatively new to Cayman Brac, but the owner, Craig, is a very experienced and knowledgeable veteran of Cayman Brac diving. His dive boat is large (40 foot sportfisher), comfortable, and well shaded. Water entry and egress are by stern platform and ladder. There is warm fresh water for a post dive shower. He is so committed to Nitrox diving that he does not charge extra for Nitrox. His dive masters are capable and friendly. I think they would be very helpful in supporting divers newer to the sport.

Craig's philosophy is that you will have the best experience at sites where he prefers to dive. He took us to dive sites that he personally likes and are not necessarily on the usual maps of the Brac. We managed a divie off the south shore due to rare favorable surface conditions. For that dive, one of his dive masters, off duty that day, came along, because it's a site she particularly likes and rarely gets to dive. If you press him, he would probably agree to take you over to Bloody Bay wall on Little Cayman. Don't do it!! The places he took us off the Brac were at least as good, usually better, than anything we saw on Little Cayman diving with Conch Divers (also a very good operation).

Diving with Indepth is particularly enjoyable for experienced divers because they don't impose arbitrary restrictions on the duration of the dive, and they don't bring up the group when the first person reaches the end-of-dive tank pressure limit. They allow you and your buddy to use the maximum bottom time permitted by your computer dive profile or your air consumption. Although their dive masters are available on the bottom and are glad to show you interesting creatures, they are perfectly happy to let you do your own dive without intrusion.

Although Craig charges more per dive than other Brac operators, there are unanticipated side benefits in addition to free Nitrox. He generously let us use tanks, buoys and weights for shore diving at no additional charge.. When one of us broke the strap attachment on her fin, he loaned her a spare set - no charge.

Based on this trip, the next time we go to the Brac, we shall do less shore diving and will spend a lot more time with Indepth.

“Loved our experience!”

What a great operation. Super helpful folks. Craig found us a house, rental car, the works and managed to fit us in even though he was in the middle of an insane week supporting the filming of a movie. The locals dive with these guys, does that say it all? Night dives are necessary to go with the competition who are very nice too -- just a bigger operation with more people and less one-on-one attention. These guys are pros. You won't be dissapointed.

“Great and Unique Brac Diving Experience”

Just returned from a fabulous week of diving!
We are return visitors to The Brac for more than 17 years. We found that Craig's relatively new dive operation was the best diving experience we have had on the Brac. It is a small, hands-on operation small, comfortable, well-equipped boat....with a limited number of divers....far from the "cattle-boat" approach of the other operations here.

Craig and Carl have an intimate working knowledge of Brac diving. There are a number of sites that are not previously known and offer wonderful untouched walls and reefs. All breifings were thorough and on-target.

This is a leisurely operation not dependent on hotel lunch schedules. It is a pleasure to leave the pier at 10 am instead of the more typical early departures.

Craig and Carl and Katie take a personal interest in the needs and desires of divers and they try hard to accomodate. They are completely professional, safety-conscious and personable. We have always been enthusiasts of Little Cayman diving, but can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed Brac diving with the InDepth team. We felt we were valued customers and look forward to diving with them again in the future!

Craig is also happy to help arrange for accomodations.
As we are time-share holders, we found the former Divi apartments worked great.......and are located a 2 minute walk to the dive shop.

GREAT JOB guys!!

“Fantastic Diving Experience”

My wife and I and our two kids went to Cayman Brac to get in some diving and spend time together over the Christmas holiday. I was a little concerned going in that the cost of the diving was more than we were used to paying but it turned out to be well worth it. We arrived each day at the dock around 9:45 to 10:00am and returned after our second dive anywhere between 2:00 and 3:00pm. We just loved the fact that we were allowed to dive our own profile and spend as much time underwater as we wanted! Craig's only stipulation was that we not run the dive tanks completely empty. No one was in a hurry and the crew was entirely focused on making sure our dive experience was exactly what we wanted. This was very refreshing for us after experiencing more and more dive operators who are limiting dive time so they can stay on schedule. Regardless of the level of your dive experience I reccomend Indepth Watersports all the way! The crew at Indepth Watersports, Craig, Carl and Katie, was great! I just can not say enough good things about these guys.

“Fantastic Diving at the Brac!”

Indepth Watersports

Nov 13, 2007

We come to the Brac every year and used to dive with Divi. Last year we dove with Brac Reef. Indepth Watersports is new this year and Craig Burhart and his crew, Carl and Katie, were GREAT! We had a group of 9 divers (family and friends) and rented the boat for the week. Craig lived up to his promise of showing us amazing diving like we have never seen at the Brac and Little Cayman, and we got great personal service on a very diver-friendly boat! Craig's usual time of departure for the 2 dives is 10 am, but we asked him to leave at 9 so that we arrived back about 1:30, not too late for lunch and a relaxing afternoon. All of the dives were at least one hour and one person logged 92 minutes on a dive! It was a real treat not to be hastled about the time under water. On a couple days we also had 3 snorkelers including 2 boys, 6 and 4. The crew were very accommodating for the boys and they had a fantastic experience including snorkeling over the Destroyer. We heartily reccommend Indepth Watersports, especially if you are tired of cattle-car diving. We certainly will be diving with them again next year.
