We went b/c I read the review that said it was awesome and my husband had never been kayaking. So we took the evening trip. It was so cool. It starts off you are still lit up by the sun and you get to learn about the mangroves and the wildlife in Salt/Sugar Bay. Sugar Bay b/c they use to dump molasses here. Anyway so you paddle here and there and out almost to the ocean and learn about Columbus and the fights between the tribes on the island etc. Paddle some more and watch the sunset it is super cool over the water out in the middle of the water. Then paddle to the church where the Indian Remains were/are, you get to hear about this also. Then paddle to the Salt Flat and whack jellyfish as you paddle and they glow green for a few seconds. We went and it was a half moon if you can go on a new moon so no light is about you can see better. The more moonlight the harder to see the glow. Then paddle back. You do not need to be in shape, just be prepared to get wet. You do not even need shoes. It is $45 a person and we usually do not do touristy stuff but we knew we would not be able to do this on our own and the people that own the Kayaking place in Christensted were even on the trip as they wanted to learn about the history and had never been. So locals join in the fun as well.
