This is an excellent hotel, the only exception on the time spent here was that they did not have my room ready when i arrived. Otherwise the staff is freindly and restaurant was about what you would expect from a boutique hotel.

We run a Scuba Shop in CT and took a group to Pelican bay last October. This hotel was was right next to UNEXSO dive shop which made it very convenient to make the boat on time every morning. The hotel was also right next to the marketplace which had the best restaurants we ever ate at. We can't forget the staff of Pelican either....from the staff to the drivers(Paddy) they went out of their way on a daily basis to make sure we had the time of our lives.

We got back from Pelican Bay almost a week ago. It was wonderful! The people in the Bahamas were the nicest I have ever met. NOBODY was rude! Everyone was just so helpful and happy all the time! The location of this place is perfect. Don't let not being right on the beach scare you! It is a really short walk away- really short! AND the bay is so pretty. The water is so clear and the boats amazing. We spent 5 days and that was the perfect amount of time. Our favorite place to eat for sure was Le Med. You have to check it out! We actually ate there 3 times!- good every time. The only problem we had at Pelican Pay was the breakfast. Not the best. Nothing hot- all cold choices. The set up of the breakfast place was nice-right on the water. The resort also has free internet you can use in the "busness office". It was great being able to stay conected to our family and young son we left back home. Grand Bahama Island was very pretty- and again, the people so nice. I would go back in a heartbeat and stay at Pelican Bay!

I just returned from a 3 night stay at Pelican Bay Resort. I had stayed there a week for the first time back in July in one of their suite and had such a great time decided to go back now for a quick weekend getaway with my sister. It is a beautiful well maintained resort & very convenient to Port Lucaya and has wonderful views of the Marina & Bay. We stayed in a Pool/Marina view -double room and it was nice, comfortable & clean (not as nice as a suite...but OK for just a quick trip since we didn't stay in the room much anyway.) We arrived early afternoon & after settling in our room lounged & relaxed by one of their beautiful pools by the channel and watched some boats go by. The ferry to the beach wasn't working when we were there, so the hotel provided a shuttle bus over to taino beach. We enjoyed the beach very much...not crowded this time of year, very beautiful & peaceful. Saw several sting rays swim by in the shallow water near the beach. Had a delicious lunch there at the restaurant overlooking the beach & enjoyed afternoon cocktails on the beach. The Sabor Resaurant & Bar at Pelican Bay were closed while we were there. But there are several restaurants at Port Lucaya (which is a short 5 minute walk). We had dinner one night at Shenanigans Pub and 2 nights at Le Med. All meals were very good. And then enjoyed live music & entertainment there at Count Basie Square. We also enjoyed the live band in the Casino located across the street one night. We had the continental breakfast each morning that Pelican Bay provides, which was great. Also enjoyed lunch 2 days next door at Unexso's Dive In Bar & Grill. We spent our last morning shopping in Port Lucaya. Every where we went, the Bahamian people were all very friendly & cordial. I look forward to my next trip to Grand Bahama Island & will definitely stay at Pelican Bay again!
