“An okay 3* hotel”

Crown Paradise Club Cancun

Literally just got home yesterdat afternoon.
This is an okay hotel with in my opinion a 3* rating. (uk)
for ease i would comment in notation form.
1, check in fine.

2,room damp air conditioning very noisy although very effective,
bed okay, pillows poor. space wise the room was as you would expect. Maid service was fine.

3,Food..i have coeliac condition and i managed okay..day to day restraunts are as you would expect okay but repetitive. Waynes boots is poor, so is the italian, the french was excellent, didnt try the fish restraunt.

4, Pain going to and from rooms, poor slow lift access.

5 The pool(s) their is a play on the NUMBER of pools this in my mind is down to the fact they are inadequate in their quality the hotel has clearly been extended with out due thought being given to this area of the hotel. Seriously they are small and overcrowded. this is demonstrated by the fact that some sad people are up at 6.30 laying out towels to get a bed !! even sadder that i noticed !
A bad side to the pool is the over abundence of gobby yanks that land in the afternoon snatching towels and your bed !..i dont have any USA issues just dont like loud and bad mannered people and a lot of the yanks were.
Hold tight on to your towel they try and charge $35 if you loose it or have it nicked, we had one pinched i reported it to nancy on the front desk who just told me that she didnt care as it was my problem and i would have to pay..so i nicked some one elses !! not good and i do apologige.

6, The beach is small, but quite nice.

7, The entertainment is poor, yes i know they are not professional and they do try, but it is still poor and in an even poorer room with no air conditioning.

9, For kids its a good place my three all enjoyed their time.

10, Overall this was an okay holiday but i wont be going back to this hotel

if you wish to know my thoughts on a particular matter please feel free to contact me.

“Great Vacation”

Crown Paradise Club Cancun

We stayed at CPC for a long weekend and just returned. The hotel is nice, if you are going for a family vacation.. SUPER kid friendly and everyone is really nice...I take my daughter on a special vacation every year.. this year my mom also came along and we all enjoyed the vacation. We stayed in a regular room as we knew we'd not spend much time in it we really were not looking to be picky..I was iffy to say the least when i first booked as i see too many people are way negative..Here is the the deal, its Mexico, not the US for one...Its not the Ritz, its a family hotel and its great for what you pay for.. We enjoyed the kids paradise area, the beach is beautiful and there is always plenty of room for people, never over crowded. The main pools, thats a different story, we spent probably 2 hours there total, people place towels on chairs and leave nothing for those who get up after 8:30am. The adult pool is not so crowded and its away from everything else so thats nice. The food is good, Wayne's Boots my favorite, but order your steak rare if you like a little pink,, they keep it on a skillet which i dont understand...i ordered mine medium and it was well done by the time i got it, no pink at all...portions are tiny so order appetizers and dessert...I would stay here again if going on another family vacation, kids are everywhere, its very kid friendly... I could also do without the vendors in the lobby, they are over priced..BUT it works if you dont want to go into downtown to buy souvenirs to bring back home...

“Paradise it is not- unless you are in hell”

If you are travelling with Thomas Cook beware!!!! We were told how fantastic this hotel was and it was more like a 5 star. I would not even give it 2 stars. There are 2 blocks to this hotel and the Thomas Cook customers get the run down block and Americans/Canadians seem to get the nicer of the 2. Food in buffet horrible, rooms damp, rust round the bath! Damp and Dull. NO UMBERELLAS TO SHADE YOU FROM THE SUN so if you have young children beware. The sunbeds are filthy. We lasted one day and payed to be transfered to Grand Serenis hotel in River Maya which was just perfect! Never ever would I step into this hotel even if someone payed for my trip, the whole place needs to be knocked down and completely rebuilt!!
We had checked this hotel on the Web and thought it looked fabulous, but the pictures were nothing like the real thing!!! We felt the hotel should put some pictures of the real rooms rather than the ones they have for timeshare customers!!

Before going on this trip we read a lot of reveiws about the CPC in Cancun. Half of the reviews were poor and the other half were great. My wife and i gave it a chance any way and off we went. On arriving the friendly porter ran over, grabbed our bags and gave me and my wife a drink. We were checked in and brought to our room. Our first impressions were very good as the place was spotless clean and well decorated. Room was nice although we were staying in the old tower. There are two towers , one new and one old. I assume the new tower is probably nicer but ours was fine.
Pools at the hotel where great and we ate in Waynes Boots, our favourite, The mexican one and the buffet. We are plain eaters so we didnt go to the fish one or the french one. The buffet place as great as was the mexican however the thr italian was rotten. Worst italian ever. The japanese was nice and someone told me the sushi was very good. The staff at the hotel were great. Waiters, cleaners, chefs, entertainers all very good. However the barmen can be a bit snaughtery. We felt the barmen in CPC had an attitude problem.
Excursions and things to do thats not included in your package can be quite expensive so be prepared to pay about $100 everytime you want to something really good and about $70 for smaller things. Everybody in Mexico wants a tip. They have tip baskets in the shops. its crazy so make sure and have plenty of change or you could be caught out.
Take the bus up and down the strip. Its very cheap and reliable. Go and see coco the monkey just outside aqau world. She is wonderful and you get your picture taken for $11 plus as many pics with your own camera. Enjoy Cancun its really nice. The pool boys who organise the games are great craic.

There are always good and bad parts of vacations, but we were disappointed with the "renovations" after Hurricane Wilma. We are timeshare owners, and this is our 3rd visit there over the past 8 years. The new beds were hard, pillows tiny, and the stink of sewer smells from the toilets is unacceptable. (they appear to recycle the rainwater into the toilets.) HINT: we bought the blue pucks for the toilets, and that helped.

Staff are very friendly and accomodating, they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with. Its up to management to improve the building. I always enjoyed the food there, but it is not as good as in past years, and that seemed to be the concensus with other repeat customers.

We will go again, since it is the best value that I know of, approx $1800 for a family of four in a relatively large suite. (2 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms.) Most timeshares charge full adult rates of about $80 per day for teenagers/adults, whereas CPC charges only 30 and 55 for adults for the all inclusive, and its optional. Once our kids are 18, then we will sell and buy somewhere nicer.
