Me, my wife, and 7 yr old daughter stayed at the CPC Cancun from Aug. 20 - Aug. 26, 2008. Upon arrival, we were told they did not have any rooms left with two double beds. To accomodate us, they put us in a Crown Room (Adults Only), which has a double jacuzzi tub, fridge, stereo, and ceiling fan. They then brought in a bed for our daughter.

ROOM

The Crown Room (2502) was nice and my daughter loved the jacuzzi tub. We had no problems with the smell. The only problem was that the A/C was set and we could not change it. It could have been alot cooler in the room, but no other problems. TIP - You need to get a lock and key from the front desk for safety deposit box in the room.

FOOD

We mainly ate at the Buffet, which wasnt overly great, but had lots of selections. The Mexican Station was the best and the pizza was not bad. Breakfast was kinda blah. Waynes boots has awesome NY Strip and we ate there twice. We had a reservation at the Mexican Restaurant, but heard from everybody that the food was terrible, so we went to the buffet instead. The japanese snack bar had AWESOME sushi and the poolside snack bar had great burgers and wings (make sure you put the hot sauce on them). The late night snack bar (Midway) had good burgers and steak sandwiches. We ordered room service once, which took about 45 minutes to get. The room service menu is limited.

BARS

We went to all the bars and the drinks were plentiful. There glasses are only 8-10 ounces though. We bought huge plastic cups with koozies in the gift shop and the bartenders always filled them up. The pina coladas were awesome, but I always asked for an extra shot of rum on the side and added it to the drink. We floated the bartenders a buck here and there, which is not required, just a kindly gesture. We wanted to go to Club Nitro (the family night club), but every night it did not open till 11pm, even though everywhere else it says it opens at 6 pm

BEACH

We spent most of our time here. There were always plenty of loungers and it was never over crowded. The water was not as rough as everyone has said and our daughter had no problems playing in it. Be warey of all the vendors walking up and down the beach trying to sell ya stuff. TIP - If you are going to get your hair braided, there are lots of Mexican woman on the beach who will do it for 15 to 20 bucks. The hotel charges $35.00.

SHOWS

We caught most of the nightly shows. They were all geared towards children and were kinda cheesy. My daughter had a great time. The circus show was the best of all of them. The theatre room needed A/C, as it got stuffy and hot.

KIDS CLUB

All I can say is that my daugher NEVER wanted to leave. We had no problems leaving her there, all the staff did a great job watching her and making sure all the kids had a great time. TIP -Make sure if you want your kids to go to lunch or dinner with the kids club, you have to sign them up for it in advance.

POOLS

Always tons of activities at the main pool! We liked the adult pool, as it was more quiet and less crowded. It did not seem like anyone ever had problems getting loungers.

If you want to go off site for shopping, take the bus (65 cents/person one way). Go to Coral Negro which is right across from Hard Rock and Coco Bongo, about 20 minutes from the hotel. BEWARE that you will get bombarded with people trying to get you into their stores!

Overall we had an awesome time and would definately go back. All the employees do a fantastic job of accomodating you and your needs. The hotel could use a facelift, but everyday there were workers all over doing painting, maintenance, etc.

We just came back from the resort and it was a fantastic experience. This is a very family oriented resort with young children. My kids 5 and 11 loved the Kids Paradise Club that the resort offered. We must admit that this is not a luxury hotel but it is a clean, decent, and fun resort, nevertheless. We visited our friends that stayed at a more luxurious resorts and they offered us a one day guest pass for our family. We concluded that although it was more luxurious, it wasn't as fun for our kids. We love Cancun and its people, they were all very cordial and nice. My only complain is about the rude tourists that stayed at the resort. A few of them don't have any concept of good hygiene, they sneeze and cough at the buffet bar, they cut in front of your lines, they just leave all their garbage by the pool and they take advantage of the poor none English speaking staff. We will definitely come back to this resort in the near future and highly recommend it to family with young kids looking for good fun!

I was a little nervous after reading all the negative reviews. We were there 8/13/80 - 8/20/08. I traveled with my husband, my four children 9,9,9,8, my parents and my mother-in-law. I requested rooms together and they were very close on the same floor. We were in rooms 1634,1633,1629. The view was unbelievable. The rooms were clean and the maid service was just fine. The air conditioners worked just fine. We never saw any bugs at all in the rooms.

We arrived at 12:00 the rooms were not ready until 3pm, but that was fine, we had expected that so the kids were in there suits and went right to the big slide area. I made dinner reservations right away. So we ate in all the restaurants except the French one. Wayne's Boots was out favorite. We tipped at every meal we had. Not alot about $5.00 - $10.00. The workers were very appreciative.

There was food and drinks all day long. The burgers were fantastic. The Japanese food was a nice treat.

The beach was a little rough, but it was beautiful. Manny on beach that sells siver is very nice to deal with. He will get you anything you want and he is easy to work a good price with.

My kids had a great time! They were sorry to leave. This is definitely a family place. I would not go for a romantic getaway or honeymoon.

The entertainment staff tries very hard to make you laugh. They work very hard on the shows at night.

I feel like we got exactly what we paid for.

This is an okay hotel with in my opinion a 3* rating. (uk)
for ease i would comment in notation form.
1, check in fine.

2,room damp air conditioning very noisy although very effective,
bed okay, pillows poor. space wise the room was as you would expect. Maid service was fine.

3,Food..i have coeliac condition and i managed okay..day to day restraunts are as you would expect okay but repetitive. Waynes boots is poor, so is the italian, the french was excellent, didnt try the fish restraunt.

4, Pain going to and from rooms, poor slow lift access.

5 The pool(s) their is a play on the NUMBER of pools this in my mind is down to the fact they are inadequate in their quality the hotel has clearly been extended with out due thought being given to this area of the hotel. Seriously they are small and overcrowded. this is demonstrated by the fact that some sad people are up at 6.30 laying out towels to get a bed !! even sadder that i noticed !
A bad side to the pool is the over abundence of gobby yanks that land in the afternoon snatching towels and your bed !..i dont have any USA issues just dont like loud and bad mannered people and a lot of the yanks were.
Hold tight on to your towel they try and charge $35 if you loose it or have it nicked, we had one pinched i reported it to nancy on the front desk who just told me that she didnt care as it was my problem and i would have to pay..so i nicked some one elses !! not good and i do apologige.

6, The beach is small, but quite nice.

7, The entertainment is poor, yes i know they are not professional and they do try, but it is still poor and in an even poorer room with no air conditioning.

9, For kids its a good place my three all enjoyed their time.

10, Overall this was an okay holiday but i wont be going back to this hotel
