“great place to stay”

Alpine Village - Jasper

What a great surprise this place was. We booked up at the last minute so did not know what to expect and now realise how lucky were were to find this accomodation at such sort notice. Staff were really helpful and friendly, cabins were really clean and pretty well equiped. We loved sitting by the side of the river with our early evening glass of wine and then wandering back to the cabin and sitting by the roaring log fire. Options are either buying the logs from the reception or chopping it yourself in the area provided, which is actually good fun. One night we were surrounded by elk whilst chopping the wood - great experience. The only down side is that the cabins can be a bit cold without the fire although there is a small radiator but unfortunately this does not throw out much heat. Would definately recommend this place.

My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in June and decided to have a trip to the Rocky Mountains.
A Friend advised us about Trip Advisor, and through this we booked 3 nights at Alpine Village, Jasper.
We were in Cabin 25 and found it very comfortable, especially the roaring log fires in the evening as it was still quite cold when we went.
The cabin was serviced to a very high standard, and the grounds were well looked after.
The Staff at Reception couldn't have been more helpful, and I would highly recommend a stay at Alpine Village.

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute! We stayed in a lovely one room cabin for two - very romantic! It had everything we needed for a relaxing few days - a queen bed, fireplace - although it was a little hot for that! with a small sitting area and tv. A Kitchen with dining area to cook our own meals, and a lovely bathroom with a large shower.
Outdoor seating completed the cottage - we enjoyed sitting outside listening to the river rushing past and even the elk wandering through the garden whilst enjoying a beer or two.
The Alpine Village is very well kept with beautiful gardens, and the lovely hot tub after a days walking - divine!

We booked our trip with very little lead-time, so availability in Jasper was very limited. Having always wanted to stay at the Alpine Village, this was a wonderful opportunity. Initially weary of the high costs, I saw what we were paying for as soon as we arrived.

The grounds are immaculate, views are breathtaking and the staff are friendly. A lovely hot tub is a perk which most of the cabins in the area don't have. There is a children's playground on-site: small, but with a mini 'log-cabin' which was a big hit with the kids. The large grassy area by the main building is a perfect spot to kick a ball around or play other sports (check out the little toys/games shed nearby for gear). It's a great central location for checking out all Jasper has to offer, and wonderful to just walk across the road and sit by the Athabasca River while you take in the views.

In recent years, the cabins have been refurbished/upgraded. Our deluxe family unit (#18) had been redone in 2004, allowing a loft to be added. I thought the entire unit had been built then, so was surprised to learn that the main floor was original to the complex. That did explain the one very minor issue I had with the place: the bedroom only has a double bed, whereas the upper loft has a queen and twin. I thought it would have made more sense to have the queen in a private room, but obviously they were working with the space restrictions from cabins built decades ago. New appliances in the kitchen and new bathroom fixtures throughout. Nice bedding and wonderful touches throughout that truly fit in with the mountain lifestyle (be sure to take note of all the inspired light fixtures). Housekeeping was absolutely impeccable.

In all, this is likely my favourite accommodation in Jasper, and I've stayed in over 75% of the hotels & cabins there. I think I even prefer this to JPL, which surprises me slightly, as I love that Fairmont property. I would love to stay here again, but due to the price, this locale will probably be saved for special occasions in our family. Would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area.

Lovely situ , great buildings , great atmosphere you get the lot. Would def. recommend this to anyone. Downside if you want to go out at night is you have to drive, but its such a lovely place you dont need to. We stayed in a deluxe cabin and ours was great.
