“A little bit of luxury”

Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver

Well what can I say - we loved this hotel. We went on a recommendation from family, and they weren't wrong! Friendly, helpful staff who can't do enough for you and who treat you like royalty. A special mention for Doug the concierge who did lots for us. The hotel is in the perfect location so you are well placed to walk most places. Robson St (for shopping) is 2 minutes one way and Canada Place is 2 minutes the other way. The hotel looks fantastic and has a boutique feel. We had a lovely room on the 17th floor which was stylishly decorated and had a large marble bathroom with sliding doors. The was a separate bath and shower. I loved the Molton and Brown toiletries that the maid left for us. We stayed for 7 nights and the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. Probably the only downside is that you look out onto office blocks. I could see people at their desks hard at work. The drapes stop people from seeing into the room. There is a lovely swimming pool and jacuzzi and separate men's and women's saunas. Only the men get a steam room. It took us a few minutes to find out how to get into the changing rooms, but we got there in the end! You need to use your key card twice. The food at the hotel was nice. We never had breakfast at the hotel, but we did have a meal at Diva, which was amazing, and we had room service. Overall I would say a superb hotel that I would recommend to everyone looking for a bit of luxury.

We stayed twice - 4 nights on arrival in vancouver mid July and one night in early August. No complaints at all about the building works - we were on the 6th and 8th Floors (heard no noise and the works finish c5pm anyway). Only problem was when the elevator was broken in July but by August it had been fixed. Breakfast at Diva is good - expensive if you pay for it so negotiate B&B in the room rate!

“Loved the Met”

After ALL of the recent negative reviews of the Metropolitan Hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by our wonderful experience. We stayed at the hotel Friday, Aug 1 through Sunday, Aug 3, 2008. Check in was quick, and they accomodated our requests made via expedia, no questions asked. The Chocolate Sparkle Cookies left for us in our room on arrival were fantastic! The staff was friendly, courteous, and very helpful in making suggestions around the city. There is so much to do within walking distance. I always felt very safe wandering about.
The room was clean, QUIET, and very modern. The amenities were very nice. The bed, bedding, and pillows were the most comfortable that we have experienced in quite some time. Loved the safe, and loved the minibar area. We also had a small balcony with sliding glass door. Our room was on the 17th floor, on the opposite side of the construction site next door. We were told that construction began at 8:30am on Saturday, but never heard a sound. Our room was also directly in front of the elevator, and again, we never heard a sound.
Our room rate was reasonable as compared to other hotels in the area/same class. The next time I am in Vancouver, I will stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. The rooms are just as described on the website, the bar area is lovely and the service is excellent. There was some building work going on just at the side of the hotel but the noise didn't come in through the double glazed windows. My husband was really taken with the little putting green and I liked the juliet balcony.

“Best Hotel in Vancouver”

Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver

The Metropolitan Vancouver is the best hotel experience I have ever had in Vancouver. Personally I heard no noise, and the gentleman at the front desk made sure we would know which floor would hear the noise the most. After originally going to the first room they provided, we realized it was too small for the 3 of us, so we went downstairs, the hotel agreed and provided us with a two room suite at only a slight additional cost to us. It was beautiful room with hardwood floored dinning table, large flat screened T.V. and two bathrooms. The staff was just excellent, helpful in getting reservations at wonderful restaurants. I would stay no where else, the noise is not a problem, and the hotel is only two blocks from the action of Robison Street.
