“Perfect Stay”

Marriott Pinnacle Vancouver

I have stayed at several Vancouver hotels -- with the exception of the Fairmont Vancouver Airport, this is the best. Service was fantastic. Food was great. View was unbeatable. Really couldn't ask for more. Yes the price is high - but if you do not like the price you do not have to stay here and in my opinion the price is actually worth it.

“Amazing view”

We paid for our stay mostly with Marriott Points so please take that into account when reading this review. We were very pleased with the location and the fact that our room was available when we arrived at lunchtime on the day of check-in. Yes, the carpeting and the bathroom could use some updating as could the TV and TV wardrobe but all that was trivial when it was compared to the view. I can only imagine what the view was like before the office buildings across the street went up but we were in room 1602 and had a full wall of panoramic windows. Unbelievable. We could see the water and the mountains and the beautiful blue sky. The bed was pretty comfortable and the linens were the updated Marriott linens. Didn't eat at the restaurant so no comment there but there are many coffee shops nearby and it is within easy walking distance to several bus stops and the Sky Train. Overall, it was a good choice for our Vancouver stay.

“Loved Marriott Pinnacle”

Stayed at the Marriott Pinnacle with my husband and teenage son. The room was spacious and the bathroom was nice because of the separate bath and shower. Nice touch having Bath and Body Works products, one of the desk clerks sent me up a large quantity of the body lotions.

The Showcase restaurant very good staff bends over backward to help.
Vancouver is a lovely city to visit the people are fantastic, courteous and helpful.

After day 10 of our stay to we upgrade to silver status and was moved to 25th floor and ok extra 50 CAD well worth it as you have use of the concierge lounge, were you can have your breakfast on 25th floor and was more cost effective than eating in the restaurant downstairs, brilliant view of Coal Harbour and Stanley Park every morning.

Good gym with steam room, swimming pool came with complementary fruit, water and towels.

Checking out was at 12 noon, a desk clerk allowed us to stay in our room until 3.00pm as our flight was not until 8.15pm at no extra cost to us.

Will stay at this hotel again.

Brilliant!!!!

“Best hotel I have ever stayed at”

Marriott Pinnacle Vancouver

5 of 5 stars
Calgary, Canada
Aug 14, 2008

I took my girlfriend to the Marriott to propose to her. So I had emailed them earlier to ask for a nice ocean view room, and anything extra for the special weekend would be appreciated. Before the stay, I emailed the concierge several times to get advise on restaurants and cruises to book. He was very helpful.

I booked a package with buffet breakfast and valet parking included ($299).

When we got there, they had upgraded us to an ocean view room. The front desk, the concierge, customer service, valet parking and especially the waiter at their restaurant during breakfast were very, very courteous and helpful.

They arranged for champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room, for when we returned after dinner and the proposal.

My girlfriend and I were overjoyed with our stay and made the weekend extra special.

We have stayed at Fairmonts before, and this is the first time we have ever stayed at a Marriott. We thought Marriott's service was superior to Fairmonts.

After we got home, they even sent us a postcard thanking us for staying there. This extra touch just raised our opinion of them.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Buffet breakfast. Courteous staff. Extra touches for romantic weekend. Very close to Robson St shopping and Stanley park and harbour.
    • Disliked — Extra cost for internet seems overpriced. Should be included in price of room.

“This hotel desperately needs a competent general manager”

Marriott Pinnacle Vancouver

1 of 5 stars
Eugene, OR

I'm really furious with the online site that classified the Marriott Pinnacle as a four-star hotel and then booked us there on my bid of 200.00 a night. This is NOT a four-star hotel. The room was small and the staff was completely incompetent in absolutely every transaction and encounter, from our check-in, when the person at the desk commented, in a friendly way, "Wow. Your room is really small but for 50.00 more I can give you something with a view," and then proceeded to try and up-sell us on everything he could think of through our check-in, to the miserable performances of the bell and parking staff....I'm simply positive that many of them had decided to go on break, or simply hide, during a.m. checkout on the day we were trying to leave. For long stretches of time, not a bell person nor a valet parking person was to be found, and the front desk staff, including the concierge, adamantly refused to (a) find us someone, or (b) acknowledge that there was no one on the floor, or (c), at the point of desperation, to give us the stupid keys to our stupid car so we could get out of there.

We are pretty sure that the problem is management. No one was in charge, and this busy hotel desperately needs to have its various parts coordinated by a supervisor.

On the upside: Vancouver is beautiful and wonderful under all circumstances....also, if you pay that extra 50 bucks (yes, we caved), the views over Coal Harbour from the 24th floor are stunning, and make up for the size of the room (if not the aggravation).

    • Liked — Nice soaps and lotions, and the maids were as helpful and friendly as could be
    • Disliked — Terrible service at the front desk and in parking
