Have stayed at the Prince for business 3 times in the past 6 months. Each stay has been enjoyable. Twice I have been fortunate to have a room with a corner balcony as well as a separate shower which I truly appreciate. The rooms are sufficiently sized and clean with a good work surface. Beds are very good. I appreciate the door separating the sleeping area from the entranceway and bath. Front desk and bell staff have always been extremely helpful although. I am surprised that at my most recent stay I was asked if I had ever stayed at the hotel before as I have been a SPG gold or platinum member for the past 10 years and as i said I have stayed 3 times in the last 6 months.
The gym is small but nicely equipped --- I'm training for a marathon so the treadmill was very much appreciated.
Room service is okay however the Pateo has an extensive buffet for breakfast with a variety of choices. Also, finally ventured to Katsura, the onsite Japanese restaurant, because it was too cold and too snowy to venture out 1 night during my last visit. I found the service was efficient and the food of a better quality than most teppanyaki style restaurants I have visited. I would certainly return if I go back to the hotel.
The hotel is not entirely convenient to the downtown or lakefront areas so I'm not sure i would choose this location for a pleasure stay however when my work takes me to this area I look forward to the stay.
