It's amazing that this place is operating. Open ceiling tile, mould, horrible smelling rooms, not a chance I would recommend this place. Do yourself a favour and sleep in your car, believe me it is awful.

We stayed here last weekend and it was pretty good. The location isn't the most amazing place and you won't see star views, but its not bad.
Check in was simple and easy and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There even was a 'hotel dog' that was around which was so cute! Hotel room wasn't bad and the room had lots of amenities like microwave, cable, fridge which was good. So not bad.
Buyer beware...
I had no idea downtown St. Catharines could be so scary. Stayed here on a Saturday night. Had to walk across St. Paul St. just to check in. Parking was taken up by all the downtown party goers, had to wait 20 minutes to get a space. Police were around the area a lot, fights were going on all around the hotel, actually this is a motel (outside entrance to room). The room was very old feeling, kind of musty smelling, needed renovating. This is not a place I would stay with children.
Do not stay here if you value your safety!
I went with a bunch of people to hang out in the Downtown area. It wasn't the greatest place, but it was pretty much what was expected for the price. We didn't spend a ton of money, so that was good for us. I read some of the other reviews, and I don't know what they're talking about in regards to "bars on the windows", and a "run down area"... because the downtown of St. Catharines is pretty much one one-way street with shops, and side streets going out. And it's downtown, so if you go on a friday night, it's obviously not going to be quiet. Brock University is close by, so there was a lot of uni kids at the bars. Close to Big Bucks.
Like the other reviews said, there was a lot of stuff in the rooms. That was a nice thing. The bathrooms need some work, but overall it was okay for people who are going there to just get a few hours of sleep or kill some time.
We weren't expecting luxury but we weren't expecting bars on the windows and peeling paint either. For $100 a night there must be places that are much better than this. The registration desk is actually in another hotel across the street, the rooms are old and smelly and it was extremely loud all night. We wished we had gone to a rest area and slept in the car. Don't spend your money at this facility.
