I stayed here for the Toronto International Film Festival on a "Me, Myself, and I" trip...what a find! As the description says, it is a renovated mansion, so it is older and has quirks. The elevator is very old with an accordion door...only a major problem when trying to wrestle luggage in and out. Large rooms with gigantic closets and bathrooms and comfy beds awaited a weary traveler. The front desk staff is helpful without being intrusive. Parking is a little tight, but rather affordable for a big city...just leave your vehicle parked and use public transportation! The continental breakfast was average...the only thing I remember was quivering hard-boiled eggs in a bowl...not appetizing at 8:00AM. I do wish they had a little refrigerator and microwave in the room...but beggars can't be choosy! You can find a better breakfast at a number of places close by. The Sherbourne subway station is literally STEPS away. The hotel is in a residential neightborhood which I personally like...a little removed from the craziness ot more touristy areas. There are a lot of regular visitors that stay here year after year, and I do believe I will be one of them!
