stayed at this hotel for one night in August. Got one of the updated rooms with marble-like floors and a fancy looking sink and faucet in bathroom, but bathtub was old. I booked another room for the kids but they only had rooms with one queen bed and a sofa bed so that was a bummer. The queen bed was comfortable and room was clean. The hotel is close to the highways and to restaurants in a typical urban sprawl location. Free internet (Wired) in rooms and wireless in lobby. Breakfast was $10/person at hotel restaurant but we did not eat there. Parking was free. Staff not very friendly (and this coming from someone who was on the way back from Montreal, where by the way people were suprisingly friendlier). Got a good deal on priceline so it was good value ($55/night) but I will try somewhere else next time.

We had two rooms at the Markham Holiday Inn for six nights. We were a little apprehensive given the reviews. However, it was a very positive experience. We found the staff to to be friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel is centrally located and accessible. Supposedly the lower level rooms are the least desirable. Our rooms were on the 6th floor and were in good condition. Free covered parking is a nice bonus. We would recommend this hotel. We got the rooms through Priceline for a very reasonable rate.

We stayed at the hotel on the "Ontario Science Centre Package" Deal... It was good value for the money - $149/night. Included, basic tickets to the Science Centre, Buffet breakfast and parking. Only issues I had were the fact that we had to upgrade our tickets to see all the exhibits at the Science Center (there was a Marvel Super Heroes exhibit on at the time and it was an extra $8/adult, $4/child). The covered free parking was a great feature, since usually parking is so expensive at hotels in that area. The breakfast buffet was good, lots of hot food choices as well as fruit, cereal, toast, pastries etc.. so that kept our son happy too. The pool was good, but there was only 4 chairs to sit on around the pool and they were all taken, so we had to keep our stuff on the floor while down there. The room was clean for the most part, but every thing was pretty old looking, the bathroom was clean but sink & tub were old - had lost the shine so they appeared a little icky. Under the beds hadn't been vaccuumed and it was pretty gross under there, but it was just dust etc. Overall it was a good place to stay, nothing fancy, the desk and restaraunt staff were really nice too.

I stayed here with a coworker for a night to attend a training workshop. The staff are very nice and the beds are comfortable. The room was smaller then what I am used to seeing but clean and at a low rate (114). I would stay here again if I was in Markham. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was very good.

Had dinner at Frankie Tomattos just a block down the street. Great food!!!! 13.99 all you can eat Itallian (pasta, chicken, etc). Skip the hotel restaraunt and eat here instead.
