“More effort please!”

Radisson SAS Liverpool

Eight of us stayed here for three nights on business over a weekend and unfortunately, we all came away very disappointed with the hotel.

Our rooms were on level 3 & 6. The beds were twins, the duvets didn't fit properly, there were no protectors on the mattresses and the sheets were not fitted so moved around when you lay on them. One of the glasses for my mini bar had a huge crack in it and there was a big sticky coffee stain on my window sill. Room service menu was very limited and when i left the tray outside my room for collection, it stayed there overnight and all of the next day! This was a common problem for all of us as well as the very loud fans in the bathrooms that stayed on 24hrs a day. When we called down about this we were told it's a frequent complaint and to stuff it with tissue!!

Breakfast was good, with a varied selection and the waiting staff and restaurant maitre de were excellent. The bar staff were polite but very slow table service in the evenings.

Also, there was a very load disco in the function rooms on one of the nights. As the hotel is open plan, the sound travels upwards and is very very loud on the 3rd floor. When we called down at 12.30am to find out when it would finish, we were told 2am and there was nothing that could be done about it. Not ideal when you're working the whole of the next day.

It does have some good points but unfortunately, many things let it down.

“Great hotel”

Radisson SAS Liverpool

5 of 5 stars
Lancashire
May 24, 2008

Stayed at the Radisson in May 2008 for my boyfriends birthday. When booking the room i requested a room with a view and we got it.
Check in was quick and staff where helpful and friendly.
The hotel was lovely, really stylish, rooms were spacious and clean.
Great location, not too far away from the centre and the docks, about a 10-15 minute walk.

We used the pool, sauna etc, not as swish as it looks on the pictures but was still nice.

There was a wedding party the night we stayed and as read on previous reports it does get quite noisy, we were on the 5th floor and could hear the music, luckily i can sleep through anything but im sure some people arent as lucky! So maybe its an idea to check this out before booking.

We didnt use the bar or restaurant, even though they looked nice, it looked a tad expensive!

Breakfast was great in the morning, we stuffed ourselves silly and didnt need to eat for the rest of the day! Choices of cooked breakfast, cereals, toast/breads and fresh fruits.

I would stay here again and would definately recommend it.

A top class hotel with fantastic rooms - worth the price. Quite a good location - we were able to walk to and from the city centre (even in high heels). Would definitely stay here again.

“A very impressive building”

Radisson SAS Liverpool

4 of 5 stars
lancashire
Mar 31, 2008

This was my second stay at this hotel, It is a very impressive building (takes your breath away when you look up) and the rooms are big for a modern hotel. The breakfast was very nice, and included fresh baked bread that you are able to cut yourself, the evening meal was also excellent.
The biggest dissapointment was that the pool was closed due to a problem with the filters which was a real shame beacause on my previous trip I had enjoyed my swim.
The largest downside of the hotel room is the air conditioning, it is really noisy and even if you turn it off there seems to be a continual wooshing noise in the room, this resulted on both occasions in quite a bad nights sleep, however non of my companion tavellers seemed to have a problem with this noise so perhaps I have sensitive hearing.
On the whole a very clean proffesionaly run hotel.

“Highly recommended”

Radisson SAS Liverpool

5 of 5 stars
Newcastle
Mar 29, 2008

I stayed here recently while in Liverpool on a weekend away with a few friends.
From the second we got there, we were made to feel extremely welcome by everyone. The hotel itself is beautiful, and absolutely huge.
Rooms were a nice size, very clean & very comfortable.
The reception staff were extremely helpful, even phoning bars & clubs ahead to tell them we were coming (there were 22 of us altogether!) & managing to get cars to come & pick us up. That's going above & beyond the call of duty as far as i'm concerned & i was extremely impressed.
Bar staff were friendly & helpful, the breakfast was buffet style & delicious, & the place & staff contributed hugely towards what became a great weekend.
I can't recommend the place highly enough.
