Stayed 3 nights in June. First trip to Europe for our 17 year old daughter. We had a triple room ensuite for 117pds per night. The beds were extremely comfortable. The room had high ceilings and felt very spacious. Was very clean as well. The first day the weather was lovely and we really enjoyed sitting out in the garden. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Excellent, convenient location to Goodge tube station.

“A cozy place to stay in London”

We stayed at the Arran House Hotel for a week in one of the ensuite rooms on the main floor. It was by and large a pleasant experience, but there will always been some amount of shock as to what $200 USD per night will get in London. Believe me, I did a TON of research to find a unique hotel in a good location for $200 USD per night or less and the Arran House Hotel was my choice.

For our arrival into London, we had arranged the taxi service through the hotel as we were getting in at night and this was our first time to London. However, after an ungodly wait to get through customs at Heathrow, we ended up paying the cab to wait for two hours. That taxi ride cost about $150 USD total, which was absolutely insane. But, it was customs fault, not the taxi. Which brings me to another issue - my husband and I vowed NEVER to travel into Heathrow again for any reason. The crowd was on the verge of rioting and people around us were literally crying as the times for their connecting flights came and went. I have never had a worse experience going through customs, and this involves customs at Houston airport, which is oh-so-charming as well. But I digress........

Back to the Arran House Hotel. It's in a great location, just a short walk to numerous tube stations and bus lines. We enjoyed the Marrborough Arms pub that was down the street as it had pretty economical meals and standard pub fare. We ate there a couple of times.

The breakfast at Aaran Hosue Hotel was awesome and it was great to be able to fill up on food before heading out to site-see for the day. The hotel also has an outdoor courtyard area that you can hang out in or eat your breakfast outdoors. The only drawback to this was one night when people seemed to hang out there until pretty late, talking loudly. Our room had a window directly looking out onto the courtyard so this may be why we were bothered by this.

The only issue we had during our stay, and we stayed for a week, was that when we returned one afternoon the door to our room was left slightly ajar by the maid serivice. Luckily nothing had been taken and the hotel is kept quite secure. The side door that we used to access our room was kept locked at all times and the only way you could enter was with a hotel key.

We had a nice stay at the Arran House Hotel and I would recommend it.

My husband & I stayed at Arran House Hotel for 5 nights. We had 4 adult children travelling with us who stayed for 3 nights only. They stayed in a quad with ensuite bathroom and my husband & I had a double with ensuite bathroom. The children also made use of the shared bathrooms, much larger than the tiny ensuite bathrooms, which we found to be marvels of engineering! The location was terrific and we found the hotel to be clean and comfortable; the service was great as well, very accommodating when I had to change my booking. The front desk arranged for a taxi one morning to Gatwick for some of our party and that went well. My children made good use of the breakfast which was quite good and plentiful. We also liked the lobby/common room - it was comfortable and had lots of reading material. Unfortunately it was too early yet in the year to enjoy the pretty garden. I would recommend Arran House Hotel and would stay there again.

“Excellent London B&B”

Arran House Hotel

What a wonderful, charming B&B. My husband, 6 yr old and I booked this for a one night stay in London. It's located on Gower St. in the Bloomsbury area, a short 7-10 minute walk to the Goodge St. tube stop. We took the tube from the airport which took about 50 minutes includinge one transfer at Leicester Sq to Goodge St. Our triple room was spacious for European standards with one double and one twin bed overlooking Gower St on the 4th floor. The beds were cozy and the quilts big and fluffy! We did not have a bathroom in the room but it wasn't a problem at all as it was just outside our room. We had a sink in the room as well as coffee and tea service. The breakfast was fantastic and included in the rate, as was the VAT since we booked directly with the hotel. The buffet breakfast included eggs, beans, bacon (Ham), croissants, breads, cheeses, cereals, coffee, tea, milk and juice. The staff was nice and accomodated our minimal requests. They even provided an extra converter for us to charge our phones and booked our taxi back to the airport! There is no lift, so be aware that if you have problems climbing stairs, this may not be the place for you. Overall, a wonderful, cozy, convenient place to stay in London.

“Great stay extremely happy”

Sydney, Australia
Family with teenagers.

Stayed here in November 07 for one week. Our first stay in London were not sure what to expect. We found the accommodation comfortable and clean, the beds were great.
Plenty to eat at breakfast a great start to the day. Stayed in a quad ensuite room on the ground floor with our teenage sons.
Close to everything, we walk the length and breadth of London returning only in the evening.
I have recommended this hotel to my friends and would stay again when visiting London.
