We were blown away by how many positive reviews there were of the Bay Tree House, so we emailed them to see if they had room. Fortunately, they did, and we immediately booked a room with them.
James and Janice are very accommodating, offering to lend you an Oyster card during your stay or write to the Tower of London for Ceremony of the Keys tickets. They are also quick to offer you a cup of tea, a biscuit, or some candy. And if you let James get going, he'll tell you stories about everything from Margaret Thatcher to the time he lived in the United States.
We arrived by tube and walked the short distance to their B&B. We stepped inside, and James immediately told us that, because our flight was delayed, he had given our rooms away. He was obviously joking, and we had a good laugh about it. He showed us to our room and told us that he would be happy to help if we needed anything.
The room was large for London, and the bathroom was equally large. A very nice room on a quiet street, just the thing needed to relax after a day of playing tourist in busy London.
Every morning, Janice would prepare your choice of a full (or partial) English breakfast or French toast or an omlette. And after Janice cooked breakfast, James would come in and make jokes.
Both James and Janice know London inside and out, and can tell you how to get wherever you want to go quickly. Or, if you don't know what you want to see, they can tell you what they like. I don't think I would have had as good a time if we hadn't stayed at the Bay Tree Inn!
