The hotel is ideally located and very reasonably priced. There is a small bar and the buffet breakfast was absolutely fine with enough variety.

However, the rooms are small, there are no tea or coffee making facilities and it wasn't particularly clean. The mattress was old and uncomfortable.

We had a room facing the street and had no idea how noisy it would be, with this and the uncomfortable mattress we hardly had any sleep. The room also stank of smoke, although we had requested a non smoking room.

When we checked in the room wasn't ready and there was nowhere secure to leave luggage after checking out.

If you stay here, make sure you get a room away from the street - I can usually sleep through any noise, but I can't stress how loud it was!

We stayed here for three nights and originally had some problems. We booked a twin room, but were given a double. On complaining to the desk we were told that the beds could be separated, but this did not get over the problem of the bed linen being the wrong size and this was not sorted out until we pointed out the problem to the room maid the following day. The room itself was very small and the lift was positively microscopic with only room for two fashion models or three quarters of a sumo wrestler. Breakfast service was a bit chaotic to say the least on two of the three days, but the staff in the small breakfast area were pleasant and eager to be of service. Overall though the great location close to Les Halles, St. Eustache, rue St. Denis and Notre dame across the way made up for any deficiencies and for those on a budget who are not too fussy it is not too bad.

Good points - excellent location - a few mins walk from 2 metro stops (Chatelet les Halles and Pont Neuf), 5 mins walk from the Louvre, about 10 mins walk from Notre Dame, Rue de Rivoli shops at the bottom of the road and more shopping at Forum des Halles. The breakfast is more than adequate (unless you are used to huge hearty breakfasts). Staff were friendly and helpful. Japanese restaurant across the road is good.
Bad points - very noisy , especially on a Saturday night - ask for a room that is not facing the street or use earplugs. Rooms were a little shabby and the lift is only big enough for 2 people (without their luggage). But this is Paris, and space is at a premium.
I have of course stayed in better hotels, but not for this price in Paris. If you just want somewhere to rest your tired head but is cheap and convenient, this place will be fine.

The location of this hotel is fantastic for The Louvre and other great shops. The staff were generally friendly, but a few had problems with English. The room itself was of a reasonable size, with high ceilings and large windows that opened out on the street. But. The safe in the room did not work, and even after reporting this a couple of times, they did not fix it but did offer to take our items and lock them in their office safe. Not what we were after, and this wasnt really practical as we wanted to keep cameras etc in there while we went out in the evening. We ended up carrying our stuff about in a padlocked rucksack! One of the lamps didnt work, and the jacuzzi bath didnt work either. Apparently this was due an ongoing problem with the system.There are NO coffee making facilities in the room, but there is a small mini-bar. The lift will only just fit two people - we ended up referring to it as the 'shoebox"! Overall, a great budget hotel for a great location, but not one to go for if you want a little luxury to your stay.
