Nevermind that the bathroom is tiny, room is very old, and sound proofing is poorly. We didn't mind all that. We've stayed in small old rooms before where we can hear the next room snore the night away. We will never stay here again because the staff (really just the day manager) was downright hostile.
My girlfriend ordered a cup of coffee around 10:30 in the morning but was told that she was not to take the coffee up to the room and that we were forbidden to eat the pastry we bought from next door in the dining room. Within 10 minutes of ordering the coffee, she was then told that she needs to finish her coffee and leave because they needed to turn on the computer for theri guests. What that has to do with anything was lost on me. Apparently they stopped serving breakfast at 10, thus the outburst. If that were the case, don't serve the coffee.
Next morning, when I challenged the manager on previous day's coffee incident, I was lgiven a lecture on "knowing the rules of engagement and that it was his duty to teach those that aren't couth enough to know the rules". That's a direct quote, not angry traveler's embellishment.
Again, the room was old, but it's on-par with a two-star hotel, and the location was good as it's very close to a Metro stop, but the day manager clearly needs a refresher course in customer service.
