We booked 2 nights here with Eurostar. Cheap hotel, but very nice, clean, just opposite Metro. room was small but bed was very comfortable. The area was perfect - not very many tourists, so you got a feel for Paris.

The good:
Quite nice rooms, comfortable beds, adequate bathroom. All in all, a reasonable hotel to stay in. It's handy having the metro right outside the door but others who prefer to walk may find this hotel a little far from the main Paris attractions. Some nice restaurants near by.
The bad:
The customer service in this hotel is appalling! The waitress in the breakfast room went nuts at us when we arrived 10 mins before breakfast finished. The (caucasian) girl on reception got annoyed when asked what the weather would be like & generally acted as if we were interrupting her VERY IMPORTANT job! I have never (& I travel a lot) experienced such a rude, arrogant girl! She was also very rude to another couple.
Also, the room locks were replaced with swipe cards but the management did not feel it was important to tell the guests about this. We arrived back at our room one morning to find it completely open (with all our belongings in there) and workmen coming in and out of the room. After we complained about the lack of notice or security, management simply told us it was safe - yeah, right!
The breakfast is average & the later you get there, the worse it is (they don't replace food as it is eaten). I would definitely give the 'cooked' breakfast a miss - who knows how long its been sitting there? A piece of rotten fruit appeared in the fruitbowl everyday we stayed (6 days!).
SUMMARY - this hotel is quite comfortable but is badly let down by its staff. There were 2 staffmembers who were extremely nice to us but unfortunately, you tend to remember the bad. If you speak French and are familiar with Paris, then you might find this ok but if not, I'd suggest somewhere else.
Hotel Kyriad is clean and modern, the staff are friendly and it is very very convenient for the metro. It is situated opposite the entrance to Pernety Metro station, (Pernety being two stop from Montparnasse which is the main connecting metro line for all of the tourist hotspots)
The local area has a cool Parisian atmosphere and you benefit from local food & drinks prices. (There is an irresistible cake shop right next door !)
Our room was above average in size, however we did benefit from one of the larger rooms. The bathroom was spotless although the bath mixer tap shower head did not connect to the wall, this was no big deal. The room had air-conditioning, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and flat screen tv. All in all this was a great base for a fantastic weekend in Paris and the hotel facilities meant that luggage was kept to a minimum. It is worth noting that the hotel staff are happy to monitor your luggage on your day of departure until you have to head back home.
Good little hotel, good location and would happily stay again.
We stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is very close to the metro. We made the mistake of transferring from Montparnasse station and walking rather than transferring to the line closer to the hotel. I was not so sure about how safe the neighborhood was during our walk, but upon further investigation, it was fine.
The room was clean. The shower was weird-there was no hook for the shower head so you had to hold it.
The breakfast was terrible! Go next door and get a pain o chocolate hot out of the oven instead.
Watch your valuables-I put away jewelry as always, but did not even think to hide a cashmere sweater. Sure enough, it got stolen right out of my luggage.
The room was very clean. The decor was very nice, though the bed took up pretty much the entire room. No air conditioning, just a fan.
Location was good. A metro stop was right across the street.
The elevator was very slow and cramped. So we usually took the stairs.
They have a policy where you need to leave your key at the front desk when you leave, which we thought was kind of weird. It was also weird that there was no holder for the shower head, which made taking a shower a little difficult.
Overall, a pretty good hotel for the price, if you're going to be sightseeing all day anyway.
