“Okay hotel!”

Marbella Inn

Nov 1, 2008

12 girls stayed at Marbella Inn for my hen do in late October. Initially we were quite pleased with what we were greeted with; the reception is quite nice. During our stay it was very noisy throughout the night. The hotel is situated centrally on a busy main road. Outside of the rooms, in the corridor there are no proper windows but glass slats which I suppose open up if it gets too warm, this obviously let alot of the noise in too! Oh and the patio door had no lock on either!
There was also a few other hen and statg parties and we were woke up with someone banging very loudly on our next door neighbours...goodness knows what time this was as we came in very late!
The first morning we were greeted by sick on the corridor near the lift and either food or sick on the stairs which was not removed at all during our stay! The sick on the corridor was removed!
The breakfast was continental and included bread, toast and daughnuts! If you're not fussy then it will be fine for you!
I would only stay again with friends as it was central to Marbella and was reasonably priced.

“Good value for money and very central”

Marbella Inn

Just returned from a 3 night break with 7 girlfriends. The Marbella Inn is brilliant value for money with larger than average rooms, cleaned every day with use of a small kitchenette with fridge and a large balcony. Could do with redecorating but for what we paid was better than expected. The breakfast is very basic with fresh croissants and rolls but again is good value for money. The best thing is the hotel's location - about 5 mins walk from the old town and the beach. It also has a rooftop pool with sunbeds. I wouldn't recommend the hotel for young children as the lift is very small and outdated and the pool area has lots of steep steps and does not have a very shallow end. Also when I went in the pool, there was an open grate. Marbella itself is very charming with lots of good bars and restaurants - the beaches are also very clean. Don't whatever you do go on the Spanish Night (Ritmo a Caballo')- a horse and flamenco show as the meal is dreadful and the wine is like vinegar. You have been warned!!

“Not a happy bunny!”

Marbella Inn

Tyne and Wear
Oct 7, 2008

The moment I arrived I was greeted by an obnoxious receptionist who was reluctant to book me in because i couldnt find my voucher! Irrelevant was the fact I showed him my passport and he had my name on the list of the check-ins for that day. I offered to find an internet cafe and print it out again for him to which i received a grunt. None of the corridors are lit you have to press a button, I understand it is conserving energy but the hotel looks very dull even in normal light! The rooms were a brilliant size but in need of updating and decoration. The rooms were quite noisy with a dog barking nearly every night and morning from the flats across the road. The pool wasnt very clean and was filled with a hose pipe every day which made it freezing, not so much in favour of conserving the environment then...! The only thing in this hotels favour was the proximity to the beach which was a 10 min walk, albeit across a busy main road. To make it worse we had a hire car which we couldnt park in the hotel car park due to the barrier being broken so we had to travel round everytime we used the car to find a space in the nearby streets often parking 10 minutes away from the hotel. Later in our stay our friend spotted cars in the car park and asked the receptionist how we get passed the barrier, to which he said she didnt have a reservation, even though they were staying in the room next to us, and that there was a charge of 10 euros a night! You would think your stay would include parking where necessary! We didnt expect a lot for what we paid but we expecting something more than this!

“Cheap and Cheerful”

This hotel is so central its brilliant. The hotel staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful.
The room was a studio apartment very basic and tired looking but everything worked, the beds were made every day. Needs a little work doing to the room but we did only spend £48.00 p.p. for 3 nights bed & breakfast so really can't complain!
Would definitely use the hotel again. Only a short walk to the old town which is wonderful and 10 min walk to beach which is also wonderful. 5 euro to hire a sun bed, approx. 65 euro for taxi from airport. There are buses but we had a pregnant lady with us so opted for the easiest travel.
Watch out where you eat prices can be expensive. Two of us picked up a very nasty bug the day before we left for home and it took us about 3-4 days to recover!!!
Overall an excellent long weekend.
