We paid a little more than we normally would to stay here, but boy was it worth it!
Our room was furnished with antiques. It was large, comfortable, and *air-conditioned*, and it actually had a room service menu, marble counters in the bathroom, enough outlets in the bathroom to be able to use a hair straightener (finally!), and my favorite, the rainfall showerhead. Plus, the shower actually had a bench and a shelf to set our toiletries down (none of the other showers at the other 4 vacation hotels had these). If it weren't for the bedet in the bathroom, I would have thought I was staying at a four-star hotel in the U.S.
The location was great, walking distance to most everything, and the staff was accomodating. Gondoliers had set up right outside the front door, and the Rialto was just a five-minute walk from the front door. There's a terrific enoteca not far from the hotel, near Campo San Bartolomeo, called Enoteca ai Rusteghi that serves great, reasonably priced wine, and terrific cicchetti.
The breakfast room was beautiful and the meal was fine-- it was the same breakfast we had at every other hotel: deli meats and cheeses, croissants, toast, muffins and cereal.
I would definitely stay here again!
