We had a 4 week holiday in Italy throughout June 2008 and this hotel had to be the highlight of it all.

Guido and Mama are the perfect hosts, warm, welcoming, funny and more attentive than we've experienced ever before.
Our bedroom was lovely and clean with fresh flowers and crisp clean linen - nothing was overlooked.
Guido couldn't have been friendlier and his home baked cakes at breakfast every morning were delicious.
A must if you want to stay in Tuscany!!

This is a quiet little inn in a quiet little town in the village of Ulignano, outside of San Gimignano. We only stayed there 1 night out of 14, but it was so memorable. The rooms, the hotel, the grounds are lovely and Guido is an absolutely wonderful host. I think he gets all of the credit because his English is so perfect, but I know that his mother and brother are there in the background contributing to a fantastic holiday experience. You will be amazed at the breakfast they bring out! We thank you!

How do we begin to write about the best experience of our 3 week stay in Italy. It felt like 'home' - the attention to every possible detail ,and the family who provide this environment at Vechio Assilo, will never be forgotten. After 4 days ,we were incredibly sad to leave. It felt like we were leaving friends who had put their heart and soul in to making each guest, including us, feel like royalty!!
Guido is so charming and genuine and his mum and brother are exactly the same. Once we had left, we can honestly say we missed being there! And anything from that time on was pale in comparison to Vechio Assilo. San Gimignano, just 6 kms away, and such a beautiful and short drive has many fabuous eating places and our time spent there on warm summer nights, is locked in our memories forever.
The breakfasts were amazing and so thoughtfully prepared and served. If we went again we would quite simply stay at Vecchio Assilo the whole time and just travel to the sites we wanted to see. Do yourselves a favour, stop looking and book yourself in to this unique and special place - you will not be disappointed ...and you will never find another like it in all the world! What an amazing place! Just like many other reviews we read about Hotel Vecchio Asilo, we wondered if it would live up to all the raves. Well, it did, and then some! It was our favorite stop on our week through Italy. The room was comfortable and spotless, breakfast was delicious and fresh every morning, and Guido couldn't have been more helpful. Any question we had, he had an answer, along with a map, and great reccomendations (especially area restaurants!) We can't wait to go back!
