We stayed there in Nov. for 2 nights and when we got there we just gave our name and had to sign a form, there was a slight problem as the hotel had overbooked but they had upgraded us to the Master Suite so we were absolutely delighted with the LCD screen and the very comfortable bed. The sheets were great and the views absolutely fantastic. Not a bad walk to any other place. Paddy's market less than 5 minutes away, the central station a 10 minute walk, the monorail, light rain, trains and buses all just a few metres.
Complimentary water each night, such a sweet thing.
They put a lot of effort into our stay each night and every time we walked out of the hotel (we were in a non smoking room) they'd say cya later or when we walked in they would ask us how our day. meal or even our donughts were.
Very lovely, very happy with our stay and we will be going back there when we fly over to Sydney in March.

The Metro hotel Sydney central was a lovely hotel to stay in. We stayed on the 12th level, although we didn't have any nice views, the room was better than i expected from reading the reviews.

Comfortable linen, nice lighting and great paintings in the rooms.

We stayed in the superior queen room and it was quite spacious, a bonus was the use of shampoo/condition/body lotion/shower gel in the bathroom.

Some improvements that could have been made were the bad reception on the tv and no remote.

But other than that a lovely place to stay, extra pillows (we had 5 in our room) , plenty of towels were provided and a great atmosphere.

Perfect location to go wondering around the city.

stayed here for four nights on a business trip to sydney. like one of the other reviewers i booked this hotel in error thinking i was going somewhere else.

for sydney standards the hotel was ok, just ok. i had a twin room when i requested a double. the standard single beds (not king singles were too small for me - i am 200cm tall). despite several requests on arrival i was not given a room with a double bed - as requested.

the staff were efficient but seemed to be terribly overworked and harrassed. i was surprised to be charged to store one smaall bag and my overcoat on the last day after checkout - i had a late flight and wanted to do some exploring.

all in all you pretty much get what you pay for.

We had made an online reservation and we had a printed confirmation, but our reservation was missing in their computer system. They had no way to communicate with their central office because it was Saturday. Despite being there at 10 AM they would not give as the room we reserved because they were fully booked, although a large hotel should expect some no show or late cancellation. For one night they would only give us a terrible room with no space and they refused to place us in another hotel or help us find another hotel. Luckily we were able to find another hotel on our own.
