Well, you cant fault the location - right in the middle of the CBD! It's fantastically close to everything.
There is construction right across the road at the moment, though, so be prepared for early morning wake ups, as the rooms do not appear to be well soundproofed.
I stayed two nights in the Metro Hotel Sydney Central, and wasnt overly impressed. The room was tiny (even the 'deluxe' rooms), the walls were grubby, and the teaspoons given for tea and coffee were dirty, too!
I found the listing for the hotel on [--] misleading - there was no minibar, and the 'bath' is a sunken shower recess. If you were only using the room to sleep, then it might be a bit more appropriate, but I wouldnt recommend it for anyone who spends any amount of time in their room
