My girlfriend and I spent five nights here as part of a trip around a few countries in Eastern Europe.
As has already been mentioned by other reviewers, the hotel is in a very quiet area and has a real "safe" feeling due to the proximity to many embassies (particularly the US Embassy) and the increased police presence in the area.
It is within easy walking distance of Charles Bridge, although it is a bit of an incline on the way back, which isn't too bad, except when you have had maybe a drink or two too many!
The hotel appears to be part of a small chain (from the literature in the hotel) however it has the look and feel of a small, family run hotel. The lobby area is rather small, but that is very much in-keeping with the overall design of the hotel.
The room we had was very spacious and felt more like a junior suite than a double room. We had a decent sized double bed, a sofa (more like a chaise lounge) and a very good sized bathroom with a bath and seperate shower. Also, unusually for Eastern Europe, there was tea and coffee making facilitie in the room.
On the minus side, they provided the usual shower gell and shampoo bottles, but never replaced them during our five nights. Not the end of the world, but you do expect a hotel of this class to at least replenish when necessary and not make you have to use your own!
The reception staff were always polite and helpful and went out of their way to pint us towards a very good restaurant for my birthday celebration dinner (Rios Vysehrad - reviewed seperately).
Breakfast was a buffet style and there was a reasonable amount of choice, though not as much as you might hope for. There were notices on the tables advertising omelettes for an extra fee of 2.5 Euros (if I remember correctly) which I thought was a bit of unnecessary penny pinching - especially as they provided scrambled egg in any case!
Overall it is a pretty good hotel, and deserving of it's four stars.
