I just spent five days in wonderful Prauge with my family (two children). I was very satisfied with the hotel at first, nice room and great breakfast/restaurant-staff. However, the staff is not overall friendly! I had one of the worst hotel-experiences ever in this hotel (and I travel a lot!) The morning of departure a very impolite and unprofessional man was working in the reception desk. I was charged a considerably higher amount than what was agreed on. When I opposed he got very rude, telling me “I got a very good price” (and hence shouldn’t oppose paying some 100 Euro more than what was agreed on..?). I was very disturbed by the discussion, since I had my children at the breakfast table only a few steps away, and we were just about to leave for the airport. I asked to discuss this issue with the manager in another forum (as in a letter of complaint) Mr reception-guy (I asked for his name but he wouldn’t tell me) then ran to get the manager, whom he said was in the property. This person didn’t show up though, only the message that I should pay “the rate I was charged for”. Super- not nice consequently, and of course I wouldn´t recommend this hotel to anyone.

A comfortable well positioned hotel. Close to Castle and Charles Bridge (5-7 mins to both). Handily placed for restaurants around nearby square, Castle and river (Kampa Park and Hergetova Cihelna have river views) If visit U Mecanese make sure you are not ripped off by costly taster menu.
Square approx 3 mins away has public transport to all key areas although walking to main tourist areas is easily dooable but you do face walk back up to hotel.
Hotel has very large rooms, comfortable beds, huge bathrooms and friendly if unobtrusive staff.
Good quality breakfast with plenty of choice (avoid 8 to 830 rush).
Only gripe would be the soap dispenser & possibly lack of bathrobes.
We were a party of 4 and used Prague Airport Shuttle - very efficient & took about 25 mins from airport.
Would derfinitely use this hotel on next visit.

Two Norwegians couples in the late fifties had an exceptionally fine 4 night stay at this little gem (23 rooms). The hotel is situated right between the Hradcany Castle and the Charles bridge (10 minutes from each) with a comfortable twenty minutes walk to the Wenzels place (the main street) and the Paryzka, the City Hall and the famous astronomical clock. The reception and breakfast area was a bit cramped, but the rooms were very very clean, beautifully furnished and spacious. The staff was helpful and corteous. The breakfast was very good. The neighbourhood is abounds with cosy, local restaurants with excellent food and friendly service at reasonable prices. We got a fine deal through hotels.com (approx. USD 175 pr room pr night, which is a bargain hardly to be beaten).

We just stayed here for 2 nights. It was a great little hotel in a very good location. The bathroom in our room had been renovated. Our room did not have air-conditioning (I was told only 5 do); however, they were able to provide a fan. The breakfast was good as well. I would definately recommend it.
