My daughter picked this hotel for my 70th birthday trip. She could not have chosen better. This hotel could not be more perfect, particularly my room, #35, a golden sunny room, spacious, with a sparkly Bohemian chandelier and three windows, two to the famous nearby Tyn church and one over exquisite Celetna St. (part of the Royal Road of the past, now a pedestrian zone) towards the v. close Old Town Hall Square, with even a bit of view of the hills beyond the river (Moldau). Service was perfect, breakfast superb. The building being a refurbished old house is very solidly built so you don't hear a sound from inside it, no noise from people, no gurgling plumbing, nothing. Inside the spiral staircase is what must be one of the prettiest elevators anywhere, all glass, obviously custom built to fill the round space.

It's unfair to criticize the hotel re. dining. It doesn't offer dining, it's, in a way, a glorious B&B, although you can get food via room service.
If you have to leave at an unearthly hour, as I did, they'll make you a more than adequate packed breakfast. Mine lasted me through a very long, tedious morning at an airport.

Full, full marks and then some!

We're just back from a five-day stay in Prague at the Ventana. The location is just off the old square, but on a side street so it's quiet. We were assigned a room on the fourth floor, where all the rooms have a two-level arrangement with a sleeping loft and bathroom and living room below. It was beautifully decorated, but inconvenient for us. Richard, the manager, switched us to a one-level room on the third floor, which was perfect for us (Room 37). BTW, Room 36 is a huge suite.

Breakfasts are excellent. Staff is helpful.

This is a perfect hotel.

I was coming to Prague for the first time, by myself, and wanted to stay somewhere centrally-located. I booked the hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews. I was not disappointed. While it was a bit more than I usually spend on a hotel, the location could not be beat (two minutes walk max from Old Town Square), the room was enormous, with a lovely view of Tyn Church, the room had all kinds of amenities, the bathroom was one of the biggest I've ever seen, the buffet breakfast was absolutely fantastic in a lovely setting (and the breakfast staff were friendly and professional). The front desk staff were great too. I had paid for a lower price room and they upgraded me for free. I can not say one thing bad about this hotel. If I ever come back to Prague, I'll definitely stay here again. After leaving Prague, I continued on to Munich, Dublin, Paris, and London, and no hotel compared to the Hotel Ventana.

My husband and I stayed at the Ventana Hotel during April 2008. We drove from Vienna to Prague. The young staff is very friendly and professional. We had a two-floors loft room. The decor is simple. The breakfast is very good. The best thing is the location - just two minutes walk from Old Town Center. I would stay at this hotel again.
